Trainer Jamie Ness on a tremendous hot streak
By DRF Staff

Trainer Jamie Ness has been on a tremendous roll of late, winning with 22 of 28 starters between Friday, May 4 and Wednesday’s fourth race at Delaware Park.

Ness’s winners have come at Delaware, Pimlico, Penn National, Presque Isle Downs, and with his final starter of the recently concluded Tampa Bay Downs meet, at which he was the runaway leading trainer. Ness sent out 79 winners from 168 starters at the Tampa meet. The second-leading trainer, Gerald Bennett, had 32 winners.

Ness has had two long recent winning streaks. He won with eight straight starters May 10-12 at Delaware, Pimlico, and Penn National. Ness then won with five straight starters between May 12-16 at Delaware, Penn National, and Presque Isle.

During a period from May 10-16 Ness won with 17 of 19 starters. His five-race winning streak was broken Wednesday when one of his runners finished third in the fifth race at Delaware. Ness had three more horses entered to run later on Wednesday.

Coming into Wednesday’s race, Ness was the leading trainer in the country with 166 wins. He trains primarily for Midwest Thoroughbreds Inc.

I remember when oscar Barrera was claiming the cheapest horses running in NY and entering them in allowance races days later. And winning at prices less than 2/1. Everyone knew he was drugging them, but he got away with it for a long time.

He already had his barn raided once this year. Whatever hes doing it must be legal plus he been pretty good the last 2 years also. Is an incredible run ....

The barn of trainer Jamie Ness, the runaway leader of the Tampa Bay Downs meeting with 64 wins from 139 starts – a winning percentage of 46% – was raided by Thoroughbred Racing Protective Bureau agents and track security personnel on Wednesday morning, general manager Peter Berube confirmed to the Paulick Report.

Officials from the Florida Division of Pari-Mutuel Wagering were not involved, Berube said, suggesting the search was not the result of a positive drug test in any horses from the Ness stable.

When tainers win at this rate, the first to complain, are other trainers.
I doubt very much that they found anything in that raid. If this happened in Ontario, the trainer would be put into the retention barn. Afterall, you are guilty BEFORE proving you are innocent when it comes to horse racing.

They could raid his barn 100 times, doesn't mean he is on the Up & Up.

Tons of Trainers have been Watched, Searched, Tested. If They Don't know what to look for it could take Years before they know.
