CSN's David Kaplan has confirmed that Kerry Wood will be retiring from the Cubs organization as soon as today.

After spending the majority of his major league career the the north side, the right-hander would like to make one more appearance in a Cubs uniform.

Dempster on Wood: "He's definitely going to be missed. The city of Chicago and Cubs fans loved him, and rightfully so.

Been getting shelled allyear. Sveum didn't want him, basically was signed because Tom Ricketts liked him. In the press conference after the game, Wood said he didn't want to go thru the grind.
