Baltimore has won a season-high five straight games – and nine in a row on the road – as they continue to be the surprise of Major League Baseball with an American League-best 27-14 mark. The Orioles also own a major-league best 15-5 record on the road.

I heard one person before the season started say they would go 0-162 this season.
Looks like that person was about 95 games off or so.

Yes I know he did not mean that literally but he still said it.

They look really good.... So do the Nats. Amazing!

The Nats games are one of the best values in pro sports. Cheap tickets, easy access to get to the games, great vendors/food, etc. The ball park is beautiful. I get to 5-10 games a year. Had to work this weekend, woulda loved to see one of these three games. Harper is going to be a superstar!

I dont think Harper is ready for the big time yet.
Too many holes in his swing.
Brought him up a year too early.

The Orioles never got the memo in spring training that they were supposed to suck this year.

I have always said they could rake with the best of them, but the pitching will carry them only so far.

Possibly, but he's certainly handling it well. If he gets through the year batting around .250, he'll be fine. If he dips below .200, they might need to send him down.

The Nats young pitching staff is outstanding as well. The Nats & Braves are the NL East teams of the future...and w/ all the injuries Philly has, "the future" might be THIS year!

His fielding may not be ready but the team needs his hitting with the injuries to Morse and Werth. Hes hitting decent, hustling, and helping the team out in a big way. Has 2 triples and 2 HRs in the last week too

Teddy Covers just did an article for Gaming Today Magazine here in Vegas. If what He wrote has any validity, I would not be too quick to discard the chances of teams that are struggling early on. He went back about 10 years and showed that most of the time the early leaders often didn't even make the playoffs and teams in last place were World Series Champions in October. I think Texas and the Dodgers will be right there in September but I doubt the Orioles or Indians will stay at the top in September. It's a long season. However, I really think that the Red Sox, Yankees and Giants will have their problems this year. Last place teams like Philly and Angels will not stay there all year. I also expect the Tigers to move up and win their division.
Any thoughts ?

nationals have the pitching to stay, its legitimate.

They obviously lack offense... although zimmerman, werth, and morse all been injured this year... morse can be a big help to the power... think they are legimiate, but then again, I am a fan...

Mantle, Mays and a lot of others struggled when they first were brought up. The big leaugues and the Minors are two different animals. Most players have to learn the hard way and Harper is no different. However He is so talented that by the end of the season, He'll be helping the Nationals big time.

I have been watching these teams pretty close, and teams like the Angels and Phillies aren't even the best teams in their own division .... Not convinced the Tigers are the best in theirs either.. Yankees and Red Sox will have their hands full with TB.. Orioles are definatly a better team this year but will have to stay injury free to stay in the race and have the rest of the teams have off years.. thats happening so far ....

Both the Phillies and the Angels are last in their divisions as We speak. My point is that neither of them will be last come September and I wouldn't rule out both of them being in first place come September. It happens every year as Teddy Cover's research has proven over the last 10 years.

I don't know anything about Teddy Covers research, I use the " Red Eye Index " myself......... We can agree that both of these teams will finish last, but alot will have to change before either are leading their divisions in Sept... Phillies need both Utley and Howard to come back to have a chance and that is no sure thing that either will be back to their past form even if they do return.. Right now, Atlanta is just a better team and Miami and Washington could hang around all year too. Angels have a better chance but are up against the best team in the AL and are 8 games back.. Don't see either happening myself... maybe a shot at a wild card
