Well, the NL showed some pride Sunday at my expense. But overall for the weekend, the AL still showed they are more complete, superior group of teams. Of the 42 inter-league games, the NL won only 3 in convincing fashion. AL won the weekend 24-18 and had far more easy wins than 3. Keep this mind for the next round in June.

For Monday:
Marlins -1. One unit. Jamie Moyer is living on borrowed time. He has an ERA of only 4.20, but batters are hitting .312 against him in the DH-less inferior NL. He has also yielded 6 unearned runs. He has luckily stranded a lot of hitters, which won't happen forever. Mark Buehrle is a even craftier lefty than Moyer, better control, better stuff, more velocity. Neither team hits lefties well. Rockies though are reeling from a weekend sweep by the Mariners, and are being questioned by the locals in their effort.

Red Sox/ Orioles: One unit on the over. I don't like to take overs this high(9.5), but I'll make an exception here. Both Hunter and Bucholz have given up 10 HRs and it's only mid- May! Hunter has pitched better than his stuff, but is starting to slip. The Red Sox are hot, hitting and have feasted on Hunter his whole career. Bucholz had a decent outing last time, but I'm not convinced. he has lost his command, and there's nothing word than a combination of walks, HBPs and HRs. The Orioles hit him hard in most recent start. Bucholz seems like the type of pitcher who has not committed himself to the game and is depending on talent alone.
One unit on Sox/ Orioles- first 5 inning- over. Not sure of the line, but expecting about 5.5

I ned to edit better. I meant today about Bucholz," There's nothing worse…"

Check out Bumgarner's record vs. Milwaukee. Impressive. Might look at that one too.

GL o fred. Been lovin your picks n writeups. Keep up the good work.
Why are books usually late to put up the first 5's..is it because they are more vunerable than full game?

Ya I think they fear the predictability of not having to factor in a pen

I agree. I think they put out the ML and RL early to gauge where the money is going and then can set the -1 line or 5 inning line so as keep sharps from hitting one of those lines big- in case the oddsmakers are off.

The Red Sox/ O's line is only 5 for first 5 innings so I'm on it.

GL tonight fred..im on the under of that Miami game. Im convinced about the borrowed time with Moyer but for some reason tonight I have a feeling there is going to be an issue of scoring runs against both pitchers.

Winner on the game over too. Miami got to Moyer, winning 6-4.

Let's compile the stats on Bucholz and Hunter: After 5 1/2 innings, 14 hits, 4 walks and a balk to bring in the 10th run. 175 pitches too. These guys usually manage to bunch up walks, hits and such to make them the bums that they are. Wait, Bucholz looks like he might be throwing more gas on the flame in the bottom of the fifth….

Yea i think your right about Bucholz being the type of athlete who sees his talent only as a paycheck. Would not suprise me if he actually hates the game lol.
