Well, the NL showed some pride Sunday at my expense. But overall for the weekend, the AL still showed they are more complete, superior group of teams. Of the 42 inter-league games, the NL won only 3 in convincing fashion. AL won the weekend 24-18 and had far more easy wins than 3. Keep this mind for the next round in June.
For Monday:
Marlins -1. One unit. Jamie Moyer is living on borrowed time. He has an ERA of only 4.20, but batters are hitting .312 against him in the DH-less inferior NL. He has also yielded 6 unearned runs. He has luckily stranded a lot of hitters, which won't happen forever. Mark Buehrle is a even craftier lefty than Moyer, better control, better stuff, more velocity. Neither team hits lefties well. Rockies though are reeling from a weekend sweep by the Mariners, and are being questioned by the locals in their effort.
Red Sox/ Orioles: One unit on the over. I don't like to take overs this high(9.5), but I'll make an exception here. Both Hunter and Bucholz have given up 10 HRs and it's only mid- May! Hunter has pitched better than his stuff, but is starting to slip. The Red Sox are hot, hitting and have feasted on Hunter his whole career. Bucholz had a decent outing last time, but I'm not convinced. he has lost his command, and there's nothing word than a combination of walks, HBPs and HRs. The Orioles hit him hard in most recent start. Bucholz seems like the type of pitcher who has not committed himself to the game and is depending on talent alone.
One unit on Sox/ Orioles- first 5 inning- over. Not sure of the line, but expecting about 5.5
