A 3-0 Monday. After a 3-6 Sunday, it helps.

I rarely ever take the Yankees. They are overpriced, overrated and overage. But after a lot of bettors, touts included, have been burned by them, they are more fairly priced. The Yankees are playing in the very competitive AL East, where every game is meaningful. A 4 game losing streak and suddenly your in last place. Phil Hughes now has 3 quality starts, with better velocity and better command. He knows the Yankees need him in the rotation, and shouldn't feel now like every start could get him booted from his spot. Luke Hochevar, on the other hand, has an 8.83 lifetime ERA vs. the Yankees, and just recently got shelled by them. His slider doesn't have the movement or command he needs to be his out pitch. Then hitters wait on his change and fastball, and whack it. The Yankees will be mighty embarrassed if they lose to Hochevar. Hitting wise, believe it or not, the Yanks only have a slight edge.
One unit on Yanks first 5 innings -1/2
One unit Yanks RL
One unit Yanks -1

One unit on Arizona/ LAD - under 9 as of tonight. Ridiculous number considering how crappy these 2 lineups are. Dodgers are missing many hitters, and Arizona is simply not hitting as well this year or hitting in the clutch. Harang has pitched very well for the Dodgers, and his 3 last starts were especially good. Trevor Cahill is capable of also keeping the Dodger at 1-3 runs. Has that good sinker ball, which helps in Arizona.

Like the plays. Yankees bats will bounce back after being shutout today & facing a perfect pitcher to do so. Best of luck!

One unit on the Red sox over TT, 4.5. Sox are the hottest hitting team in the majors right now. Matusz reminds me of Jamie Moyer, a lot of hits, but an ERA that looks respectable. In other words, he's leaving many guys on base, and those things even out. Some of those base runners will score if you are giving up hits like Matusz- .309 batting average against. I'm also aware that the Baltimore BP has been very good this year, but that could also even out to the true talent that's out there- which is average at best. One thing to not about Boston- the bottom of the lineup is raking it, and the team as a whole is more patient in their approach- which means more walks. Youk is back to join in the fun.

Final play (probably). I'm going to ride a very hot pitcher, playing on a solid hitting team, with a tough BP. Atlanta ML. One unit. Atlanta looked like the one NL team that played right at the level of the AL teams in inter-league play.

How could I miss this one? Astros TT over 4. One unit. Travis Wood was getting hit in the minors pretty well. .294 against in AAA. His command has always been questionable at best. Cubs bullpen is also trouble. 4 seems very generous to me. Astros are capable of hitting this number, considering some of the quality pitching they've faced in recent weeks.

Add over 4, first 5 innings- Hous/ Cubs at -135. Kind of pricey, but Happ is just as bad, and Travis Wood can at least hit. One unit.
