The Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded tight end Kellen Winslow to the Seattle Seahawks for a conditional 2013 draft pick, a move that coincides with the NFC South club signing tight end Dallas Clark to a one-year contract.
The Clark deal was first reported by Scout earlier Monday.
Clark and Luke Stocker are expected to work in tandem at tight end for the Buccaneeers.
“Dallas Clark is a consummate pro and proven playmaker,” said Buccaneers general manager Mark Dominik said. “He will be another asset, on and off the field, for our team. In addition to Luke Stocker’s continued improvement in his ability as an every-down tight end, we feel we have talent and depth at the tight end position.”
Winslow fell out of favor with the Buccaneers through his absence from organized team activities and the offseason conditioning program.
For the Bucccaneers, Winslow caught 218 passes for 2,377 yards and 12 touchdowns.
Three seasons ago, Winslow caught 77 passes for 884 yards and five touchdowns.
The Seahawks lost tight end John Carlson in free agency to the Minnesota Vikings.
Clark, 32, has caught 427 career passes for 4,887 yards and 46 touchdowns.
Clark also worked out for the New England Patriots, but ultimately opted to join the Buccaneers.
