Are you the guy that merges sooner rather than later or later rather than sooner?

Was on the highway the other morning and man, people get pissed off. I see guys that speed up all the way until the end and guys that merge as soon as they see a "must merge" sign. I've also seen the guy that straddles the middle line to keep people from passing. People get furious.

Which guy are you?

I get over early. And if I see cocksuckers zooming by when we are about to get up where the lane merges I will straddle so the douche can't pass. Get in line like the rest of us ya fucking dickhead.

There is a book called "Traffic" that changed my mind on this subject. I used to be a get over early guy, and got pissed at everyone else that waited to merge, but it actually makes more sense to use the two lanes road's full capacity all the way to the merge point and then to get over.

I disagree. Traffic stops when the lanes merge because the dickheads that drive all the way up to the front cause other cars to completely stop for them to get in line.

When getting onto the beltway, most people merge way too soon and make it more difficult because they will cut people off or bring traffic to a halt. I like to go whenever I see an opening and be done with it tho

I always hate the mofo's that let the speeder in to the loop when they can't get in. Always one mofo that causes the line to come to a halt to let some other ahole in, while all this is happening, more and more cars speed by while everyone is stopped.

I saw one guy move his car to the straddle spot and opened his door to make sure people didn't drive by. He was lucky his door wasn't smashed off.

People don't give a f*** anymore, always in a hurry to go nowhere.

Quick story...

So, I was about 20 and the guy that wouldn't let the merger into my lane as she had sped up past traffic to get in at the end. I simply got on the bumper of the car in front of me. What did she do? She started to merge over into my truck to the point that I had to go into the guardrail. What happened? A state patrolman was about three cars back and put on his lights and pulled her over.

She flipped me off.

Once I am merged, I ride the bumper of the guy in front of me so no one can think about squeezing in.. and if they try to pull that stunt anyway, I make eye contact and use my thumb to direct them to get behind me.

Why? So you can be 3 seconds earlier or 9 feet closer???? Is it worth the cost and aggravation an accident causes? Even if its not your fault.... you still gonna have to do a lot of work lol

I guess it's the disrespect others have just because they are in a car. Jumping ahead of 10 cars, including me, is saying "F you all" to each one of us.. For the record... riding a bumper doesn't really create too much risk if done with awareness. I have never been in an accident ever, not caused one (that I know of !).
