Cincinnati Bengals rookie Brandon Joiner is in serious trouble with the law.
The undrafted rookie has been sentenced to three years in prison, punishment stemming from a robbery five years ago when he was a Texas A&M freshman.

A search of his home after the robbery discovered Ecstasy, marijuana and hydrocodone.

According to the Bryan College Station Eagle, Joiner was indicted on two counts of aggravated robbery and one charge of felony drug possession shortly after he and another former Aggie robbed a drug dealer.

Joiner was on probation already for the aggravated robbery charge before being sentenced this week.
A plea deal was worked out that allowed Joiner to graduate from college prior to going to prison.

He finished his career at Arkansas State and shared Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year honors last season.

“Since this incident, Brandon has conducted himself in an exemplary fashion and I’m sure he will continue to do that,” lawyer Jay Granberry said. “There are a lot of people rooting for Brandon and I’m convinced he’s not going to let anyone down.”
The Bengals have yet to comment on the situation or address Joiner's roster status.

According to Granberry, Joiner could get out on parole in six to nine months if he behaves himself in prison.
