Don’t really want to dwell on yesterday’s performance, as both of my best bets were screwed by absolute bullshit. I mean, I could understand losing Norris vs Billingsley under 7 even though it was 3-2 in the 8th inning (With two outs and nobody on before the Astros tied it with some help via walks), but these bullpen breakdowns plague my unders seemingly every day. And then, of course, when I have the chance for a push, AJ Ellis instead drills a three-run walk-off homer in the bottom of the 9th to cost me. Are you serious?
The worst, of course, occured in my No. 1 best bet yesterday, Richard vs Santana under 7.5, which I still cannot believe. It was 4-0 in the bottom of the 8th (With two outs, of course), and Mike Nickeas, maybe the worst hitting catcher in the National League, hits his second career homerun and first in 2012 (While in a 1-for-22 slump, by the way)… a grand slam… off Padres’ unhittable closer Dale Thayer (He’s been unhittable since taking over the role). Yes, closers aren’tvery good when they’re not trying to convert a save but come on. Even if he gets a two-run hit there, Johan Santana was on deck so that was the third out, before Santana ultimately finished the complete game shutout in the top of the 9th. There’s been so much fluke-like stuff happening to me this year that it makes it so hard to continue doing this.
No write-up games today, as this Sunday will just be used as kind of a “lay low” kind of day as I attempt to get my confidence and rhythm back, which is something you definitely need to be successful in this industry. Therefore, I’m just listing today’s card, which will all be small bets:
Edinson Volquez vs RA Dickey UNDER 8 - $18 for $15
Kyle Drabek vs Yu Darvish UNDER 10 - $17 for $15
**May Add More Over/Under(s) Throughout Day Leading Up To Gametime**
