I was looking at that but Norris has been pitching really well lately. Guthrie is questionable at best and could get hit around, but I think Norris can hold the Rockies to 3 or fewer. No play for me. BOL if you play it.

Welcome to the world of MLB Over/Unders, it's always nice to see someone else exploring them. Not sure if you're new to this specific type of bet but let me warn you (As you found out last night), there have been countless, countless, countless bad breaks that are impossible to predict. Too many times this year, I've been 100-percent right on a game, only for some bizarre fluke-like instance to occur and completely ruin the bet when it shouldn't have happened in the first place.

Take last night's game for example: I had that Greinke vs Billingsley under as well. You and I, in that taking side, made the RIGHT call. Don't live by the philosophy that "a loss is a loss" because ten times out of ten, everyone is supposed to make the bet that we made, based on our opinions of the starters going into said contest. But of course, much like a lot of times this year, absolute bullshit took over the game when Carlos Gomez (Aka one of the scrawniest outfielders there is) drilled a meaningless PINCH HIT two-run home run. So okay, we'll settle for a push... but we can't even get that, as James Loney, hitting .180 against lefties this year, somehow punches an RBI single off a lefty... with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth. Yes, that stuff is supposed to happen "once in awhile," but I assure you, it's been happening on a regular basis. It's too bad you didn't get into MLB Over/Unders in recent years when this stuff was much, much, much easier and profitable.

As for your games tonight, I also have a small bet on Pavano vs Lowe over 9, as Lowe's overall numbers don't tell the whole story, meaning he has to come back down to earth sooner than later. Buchholz vs Alvarez over 9.5 is too high for my liking (Could easily be 6-3) but it should be close. Wainwright vs Santana I didn't really have a vibe on (Wouldn't be surprised if it was 5-4, though), and when it comes to Leake vs Happ, I lost the under in their matchup last year on a Tuesday night in Cincinnati so I guess it wouldn't surprise me to see it go over again. I'm staying away from it, though, because I mostly see it falling in the 6-2/6-4 bracket.

Good luck

Thanks for the input Cats. I have been betting Over/Unders for a few years now and although this year seems to be a little more brutal than most, I can assure you that this is not the first time I have gotten a bad break like last night. I am not a "big" gambler nor am I a compulsive degenerate gambler, so although I can "afford"these types of hits, they still remain frustrating and leave me head scratching. I have learned that these incedents come with ALL sports and betting things that are completely out of our control. Only if it were an exact science... Thanks for the thoughts and always appreciate positive input toward a thread.

In that case, good to see another veteran in over/unders, it's nice to have you on here. I started in 2009 (Although I didn't start doing over/unders every single day until last year) and can say with absolute certainty, there has never been another season like this one in terms of fluke occurences and bizarre bullpen breakdowns. Last year might've been the greatest accomplishment in my whole life out of anything I've ever done (I was 366-270-42 in MLB Over/Unders last year. Made me so proud that all the work I invested into it actually paid off in an industry that is so, so tough to succeed in), but using the same exact technique that I used in my success last year, I'm only .500, which is embarrassing, but there's been countless bad breaks, to go along with very, very, very rare ones going in my favor. It's just been an unusual year, but as you said, there's really no exact science to it. Hopefully these breaks come to an end as soon as possible

GL dunno why there is not more total players. I feel they are easier to beat since books are limited to certain numbers they can put out and the juice is relatively low
