Crosby against Yankees on Friday?!

I did as much research about this guy as a kid. He wasn't all that dominant or very good in the minors.

Anybody got any info or insight/thoughts on this guy?

I was thinking about putting a huge bet in on the Yankees on Friday with C.C pitching for the Yanks. Yankees have today off while Tigers play Red Sox then go home for Friday's match when daddy, I mean Yankees come to town.

Yankees don't do well against pitchers they haven't seen before. I'm aware of that. They did rock the last rookie pitcher they faced though. I mean if the pitcher isn't that good then it doesn't matter if they've seen before or not, they will rock him. Also they do well against lefties no?

I'm a fan of both teams but I think Yankees should win. Maybe a play on the rl too.

Anyways, any tips or opinions would be appreciated.

Right now I'm leaning towards a 4 digit wager on Yankees.

Wow this forum is so dead. You post a topic, any other topic, in other forums and there'd be about 20 replies by now. Even if most are garbage there'd be a few quality ones.

What can ya do. I refuse to sign up at other sites. Some sort of fucked up sense of loyalty to this site.

Well, here's crosby's stats from SO.

DETROIT - CASEY CROSBY (L) will make his Major League Debut Friday vs the NY Yankees.

AAA stats from Toledo

W - 4
L - 2
ERA - 4.26
G - 9
GS - 9
IP - 50.2
H - 43
R - 28
ER - 24
HR - 4
BB - 26
SO -57
WHIP - 1.26

Looks like he's only lasting 5.5 innings or so on average. High ERA for a Triple-A to brought up now, but good SO to BB ratio. Winning 4 games with that high of an ERA means he's either getting run support or he had a game (or two) where he completly shit the bed and f'd up his ERA.

Only worry like u said is historically yanks have not done well vs f'newgee pitchers, though if you're this kid you're brought up and your first start is vs the yanks means he's probably puking his guts out at some time tomorrow.

Adding in - game opened at NYY - 145 and it's now at least -160 - some cases over -170 already. A lot of the value is gone already from the play if u ask me. Careful here of being late to the party.

I don't know anything about the Crosby, but generally speaking teams have a hard time against a pitcher they've never seen before. After they've seen him a couple of times (by the 5th or 6th inning), then easier to touch him up a little. Plus, Comerica is, or at least it used to be, more of a pitcher-friendly ballpark. Could be a lower score than most would expect. However, the Yankees lineup is powerful enough to do damage to anyone. Tough call in my opinion. BOL

Might make a medium play on Yankees RL. Even if they don't score much off this guy, I think they will wear him down and get him out early. I think the Tiger's bullpen is playing a little better lately but not good enough to take over against the Yankees for 4 innings or so when the rookie leaves.

Yankees TT over 4.5 or 5 whatever it is. The bats are alive. Less juice and better chance of hitting quickly

Good luck. I've seen these first time pitchers get rocked out of the gate and on the other side pitch 7 innings of 1-2 run ball. You never know in these situations so maybe bet mainly on C.C. and lower your bet to 3 digits. If you win you will still be happy. If you lose, you mitigate your loss. Save your 4 digit bets for better situations.
