Phil wants to come back. He already turned down one job. I think Spoelstra could get fired if he loses this series. The organization likes him but this is inexcusable. I don't think Wade and James would be unhappy to see Spo go. There is a chance one of the big three gets moved in the offseason. It's obvious there isn't enough depth and too much money is being spent on three great players. Wade or Bosh might be moved. You could get a lot for Wade.

The Heat have not added the right role players to the mix. Too many 3 pt shooters, no 6th man that supplies any spark, no centers that have adequate offensive skills. I think Riley will give Spoelstra another year.
Phil would want too much $$$, cause he's used to getting it. Doubt if Riley would part with that kind of $$$. Think he'd rather invest in the right minded role players to surround the big 3 with.

Eric S will be fired for sure if heat dont win title this year imo.

Riley will come downstairs himself and he will be the coach imo or another big name like jackson.

Heat seem like a bad fit for Phil, the role-players are just so unreliable. He might as well go back to LA

They have *no* flexibility as far as $$ for players goes... They have almost $80m committed right now.

Phil wants to come back.

Please post reference.

They have been saying on SportsCenter in the last few weeks that Phil might be interested to return to coaching he is healthy again. What other team could he go to with as much talent as Heat. Phil would demand a lot of money. NJ has also been mentioned but why would Phil go there. They aren't ready to win. Williams might not stay. I don't think Riley wants to return to bench. They can keep Spoelstra but why. If he loses this series it would be a monumental collapse. You can't use the Bosh excuse when you get out to a 2-0 series lead. What other big name coaches other than Stan Van Gundy are out there.

Heat can do the following...I think to free up some $$.
Release or trade:
Ronny Turiaf $4,360,000
Eddie Curry $1,229,255
Mike Miller $5,400,000

Erik Spoelstra Should Be Fired Following The Boston Celtics – Miami Heat Series
Published: About an hour ago
by Riley Schmitt
RANT It!

Erik Spoelstra is trying but I think we are all coming to the same realization. *The guy is just not cut out to coach the Miami Heat. *After getting destroyed in the coaching department by the Boston Celtics in Game 5, Spoelstra should be fired whenever the Miami season ends. *He can not bring this team to the Finals.

It almost seems like Erik Spoelstra is trying to get too cute with the job. *He is focusing more on the emotional side of things than the actual basketball part. *That stuff is all fine and dandy, but there is no excuse for the Heat to be making dumb mistakes. *Spoelstra should be screaming at people to get back on defense and make some smart decisions.

Not playing Chris Bosh more in Game 5 was his undoing. *If you are gonna play him, he needs to go all out. *There is no in between. *You either play him 30 minutes or you don’t play him. *Erik Spoelstra got caught in between and it cost him.

I actually think that Erik Spoelstra could make a fine coach, but he is in too deep right now. *Only an experienced veteran coach can make this mess work. *That is what it is. *An absolute mess. *Sure they get results, but without a Finals win, it is not worth anything. *You can not form a super team, have a giant welcome party, and then not deliver.

Erik Spoelestra will be the first domino to fall if the Heat lose to the Celtics. *Either way, I think Spoelstra is gone barring a Miami title win. *However, that is not likely. *I think either team from the East gets rolled by the West winner.

He may be the sacrificial lamb for the Heat, but he just wasn’t able to push the team to new heights.

I don't think you can release them, they're still be on the books... And why would any team trade for any of those guys?

Orlando will be anxious to get a solid player in exchange fit Dwight Howard.

And since the contracts will be almost identical, all Miami has to do is offer Dwyane Wade or Chris Bosh for Howard, the Magic would likely jump at the offer, and it'd s win-win for both organizations.

Lebron and Howard alone would be more potent than the big 3 they have now...

These three have played for 13 teams in 27 seasons.
There is always demand for bigs and shooters to fill roles on NBA teams.

Glad someone else said it... Good grief. Miller has chronic back issues, Turiaf is absolutely useless, and Curry doesn't even exist as far as the NBA is concerned.

Has Curry even played this season? It looks like Spoelstra wastes too much time overhinking the lineups. If they don't win this year they need to fire him ASAP and not wait till next season to do so.
