These are just my opinions on some of the games on today's card. Nothing in this post is an official play, the purpose of it is just to give some insight on a few of the games going on today.

New York Mets @ Washington Nationals : 1:05 pm EST

Odds: Mets -122/Nationals +112 (O/U 7.5 )

Mets starter R.A. Dickey has been dominant so far this season and has shown no signs of regressing any time soon. The Nationals however seem to find ways to scrap out ugly wins at home all the time and I could easily see that being the case here. The Mets look to be the right side in this one with the big pitching advantage but like I said, the Nationals have found ways to win at home even when they look to be the wrong side. It's Mets or nothing in this one, I just would rather pass and go with nothing.

Lean: Mets ML

Tampa Bay Rays @ New York Yankees : 7:05 pm EST

Odds: Rays +140/Yankees -150 ( O/U 8 )

Tampa Bay's starting pitchers just can't seem to find their comfort zone on the road so far this season, the Rays are 2 games below .500 on the road and that is thanks in large part to pitching woes that seem to disappear when at home. David Price will be starting on the mound for Tampa in this one and he has struggled on the road just like every other Rays pitcher to this point. Price's worst start of the season actually came in Yankee Stadium about a month ago. The Yankees lineup is hot right now and they should be able to take advantage of David Price in this one. CC Sabathia hasn't been great to this point, but he has been good enough and that's exactly what I expect from him in this one.. just good enough. With all that said I still have no official play on this game because I feel the line is right about where it should be. Slight lean to the Yankees but it would take some pretty good line movement to get me to actually make a play on it.

Lean: Yankees ML

St. Louis Cardinals @ Houston Astros : 8:05 pm EST

Odds: Cardinals -158/Astros +148 ( O/U 8.5 )

If you look at Houston as a whole you see a 24-32 team which is pretty bad, but this team plays at a different level at home managing to get a 18-13 home record so far. The Astros game elevates all around when at home and their offense really seems to heat up in their ballpark. Lance Lynn will get the start for the Cards in this one and although he has been very good for the most part this season, he has faced a pretty soft schedule which has helped boost his numbers quite a bit. I expect Houston to be able to score at least a few runs here but I wouldn't be surprised to see the Cards do the same here against J.A. Happ. Strong lean to the Astros in this one but I just couldn't pull the trigger.

Lean: Houston ML
