My computer won't even turn on?

Any advice. When I came home from work yesterday the power was off and it won't power up. This is a Dell laptop, I left it on in the morning but now it has no sign of life.

I'm assuming I it got attacked by a virus?

its probably the power supply.

if u know about them then shouldnt be too bad 30-100$ (use ebay or amazon to find it).

very easy and very easy to find if u have ur comp model.

they also sell universal ones at bestbuy or similiar shops

Before you spend all kinds of dough, on the back of the PC there is usually a red reset button. Try pushing that first and then try to start it. Sometimes the hardest solution is the easiest. Hope that's all it is for your sake.

If you're troubleshooting is unsuccessful, take it to Best Buy and get a Geek Squad guy to take a look at it.

Pull the battery, plug it back in WITHOUT the battery and see if you can get it to turn on (might have to hold the power button down longer than normal).

Thanks Guys, good people at this forum. I think it may simply be that my power cord was bad. I replaced it and I have power.

I have a new problem. When I restart my computer and go to Internet explorer I get a message page can't be found. I have to do a system retore. After a sucessful system restore internet explorer now finds my MSN internet.
