Sale (8-2) gave up four singles, struck out seven and walked none while lowering his AL-leading ERA to 2.05 during his fifth straight victory.
''I'm not one to really look at my stats or anything like that. It really doesn't do anything for you,'' the 6-foot-6 Sale said. ''You got a five (ERA) or a one and you still got to go out there and pitch and get outs.''

I think he was misused by Ozzie .........he had him out of the pen , long relief .....even closing

7/15/12:

Sale (11-2) is 8-0 with two no-decisions since a May 12 loss to the Royals.
He allowed one run and scattered a season-high 10 hits eight innings to lower his earned run average to 2.11, which ranks second on the American League. He struck out four and walked none.

Not even close? Price (same no. of wins, slightly worse WHIP, ERA half a run better, lots of Ks more than Weaver), Felix Hernandez (12 wins to Weavers 16, bunch of Ks more, WHIP almost identically, ERA is abou 1/4runs better + a perfect game) and Verlander (again, 12 to 16 in wins, but way more Ks, better ERA and more or less the same WHIP). Also Price + Verlander keep their teams in contention for the POs while Weaver is struggling a bit right now, when the Angels would need him most with all their starters struggling a bit.

MAYBE 2016: LHP Chris Sale (5-0) has been sensational over his five starts, striking out 32 batters with an ERA of 1.66. He has allowed just one earned run in his past three outings.
