is a great site. makes parlay cards that look way better the most of the ones out there which will be appealing to others....
how much competition is there?? important question -- if none, or if the competition already does it, you can adjust your over and under to give your self a couple point. Example, if Vegas has a line at 42, put it at Over 43, Under 41, remember pushes lose on a typical parlay card, so everything should be nice even numbers....
Another thing to keep in mind, what day are you going to release your cards? the last year I did them, I got beat pretty bad on line movement. I started releasing them later in the week, and collecting them earlier.
DONT GIVE ANYONE CREDIT TO BET STRAIGHTBETS. DON"T DO IT!! They will stiff you.
Also, I would recommend getting a prepaid cell, and only use that for the cards. Other epquipment youll need is a lazer black and white printer. pretty cheap now, maybe $200. youre going to be printing so often that traditional printers will kill your profit. the printer will pay forself in 8 weeks. you gets 1000s more prints per cartridge (keep an extra on hand). Also youll need , hell I don't know what its called, but a paper cutter. something that can do multiple sheets at a time and fast. I never upgraded mind. I only could do 3 at a time with my little one I got from staples that you just slide the blade up and down and cuts perfect straight fast. Youll also need a perforrater. Something else you can purchase at stamples, mine was just a little hand held one that had a perforated blades as an option and you run it over the paper. although that site above sells perforated paper, never used it but may be worth it....
Keep a nice filing system of past cards. I had several instances where someone said they won and I had to go back and show them they didn't. people make mistakes often.
As far as the winning percentage, impossible for me to say.. I feel my clientel was different than most. I got buried on favorites, to the point I was giving myself an extra point, two or even 3 sometimes, just to cross key numbers. study your clientele the first couple weeks and make adjustments.... If a bunch of favorite covered, usually I was in trouble. Although I always had a winning season.
Oh, important question here, what are going to be your min bets? Here's what I learned, most people bet the min, whether its $2 or $10. I didn't seem to lsoe ANY clientele when i Raised my min, and I boasted my profits drastically with that move. Have a max payout posted. I ended up witha guy betting $200+ on 4 teamer, and it became a point where he if won, I would have a losing week no matter what. my max payout was $2500.
give people that network for something. if they gamble, give them a free card for every 10 cards they bring you from friends. whatever will motivate those people, work to keep them.
Once you realize what your average client wagers, lets say its $10, offer specials, $30on 5 teamer, will pay as $550 instead of payout of $450... Those worked great for me.
Most importantly, make sure you have the right money behind you. And I would recommend not touching ANY of the winnings until the season is almost over. I always used it as Christmas money. Because there will be a couple weeks you get crushed.
