Sites like youtube, various blogs, microsoft sites, anything I go to has always had banner ads and other ads but now they are all for the same site for me. I am taking CPA(accountant) review classes and signed up for a class on their site and now every ad online is for their company. Its so annoying how they try to tailor all the ads to every little piece of info the web picks up on you. They always want all your info like phone #, email, address, bday, etc. Where does it stop?

Let me know what you think of the review classes that you signed up for. They'll be in my near future.

not necessarily adware, would just venture it's cookies in which case, clearing cache and cookies would do the job if memory serves.

Yea I would agree with this because its not like its pop up ads or anything like that. Its just built in ads to all the site

Also-def agree they are targeting the wrong user since I already purchased but i think they just auto advertise to whoever visits the site

My mac book is running smooth as ever still just those ads so i think its just marketing/cookies...
but
was wondering what you recomend for FREE virus scan and importantly removal. A friend of mine got some type of adware or something that is telling him to purchase this virus scanner/etc but I am 99% it is fake and scamming for his account info, etc. I looked in the old thread about this stuff and saw a few posts but was wondering your top site you'd recommend. Feel bad cause i showed this guy how to use torrents and get something and i think he clicked on a fake link and also a torrent that was tracked so im trying to help him out

Ill let you know, im using becker since the firm ill be working with pays for the review classes. I cant see any of these classes being worth the money if you have to pay out of pocket, but then again I wouldn't even know what to study without the class so it is kind of necessary

The new 2012 AVG free anti-virus software has a feature called "do not track" that so far at least had virtually eliminated those google ads. I would look up say tires on Amazon and for the next month all id see is tire ads on every page id go to. Its done away with them.

I also got AdBlock plus....there is a different version for each browser you use but this blocks the ads on you tube as well as those stupid audio ads you get on like Yahoo and others....
