Never ever heard of him. Heard them say something about 1996
So I guess it was around the many times I stopped watching WWE.

Use to Love watching, even went to a few Events in my time. But from time to time I gave it up. Sometimes it was Years in between.

its pretty hard not to know vader if you were into wrestling he was around for a really long time, had some great feuds too, especially with undertaker. for a big man he was pretty athletic doing moonsaults and what not. He even branched off into main stream a bit with appearences on tv shows such as boy meets world.

Yep, Early 80's didn't follow it.

Been watching it on and off since the late 60's

But like I said, there were times I didn't watch or follow years at a time.

I could now say that I "Think" I heard the name... But again if someone asked me before Today, I would have said I have no idea what the guy looks like.

i remember i went to a raw is war when i was around 12-14 years old with my dad and the main event dark match was undertaker vs vader. Undertaker had already fought earlier in the night and ended up putting vader through the table to end dark match. back when wrestling use to be exciting, now i watch 2-3 mins every few months for old times sake

It was awesome seeing Vader last night. One of the best big men in wrestling history! He was great in WCW & Japan. He should have won the WWF title at some point though.

It wasn't the early 80's , Vader didnt make his WWE debut until 1996 , he made his WCW debut in 1992.

I'm not in a position to copy and paste right now , but if you want to see something squemish , theres a match of vader vs stan hansen from all japan on youtube where vader is wearing a mask , hansen rips the mask off of vaders face and vader's eyeball pops out.

It's cause one of the videos says something about 1981 but yeah neither Vader nor Undertaker were around in the early 80's. Vader probably was but not in WWF.

By the way today's WWE is so bad. How can anyone watch that without feeling embarrassed. The product is a joke and they keep wondering why they don't have a big audience like they did in 98-99.

Vader was in the AWA mid to late 80's then went to All Japan from late 80's to early 90's. So he's been around for a long time to say the least.

He looked good last night for a man that turned 57 years old last month. Nice to see the fans give him the respect and credit he deserved.

Here's an odd but true trivia tidbit ... Undertaker's former manager Paul Bearer is actually in real life a funeral home director in Mobile Alabama.

i didnt watch raw last night but after i saw kidman's post i read the report on the wrstling observer site , and it said Vader got as big or a bigger pop than anyone else on the show.

That cant be good news for WWE less than a week from a ppv with all the top stars selling their matches on the "go-home" show and a guy that at this point is basically a novelty act get's the biggest pop.

He didn't. Look at the video. Most of the fans today don't even know who Stone Cold is. I doubt they know Vader.

That sounds good enough to keep me interested , BUT , i dont know how many semi-retired guys are still in enough shape to do a decent match.

I'm certainly not looking forward to Honky tonk man and Tito Santana (who both still do reunion type shows).

One of Vince's go to old timers has always been Kamala the Ugandan Giant , but he recently had his feet amputated due to complications from diabetes.

It will be interesting to see who they get.

...btw , rumors have it that Flair is done with TNA and will be returning soon.

Also , Roadogg BG James is working as an agent backstage so there could certainly be a DX reunion.

Vader got the biggest pop of the night next to Vince coming out at the start of the show. There will always be a huge reception for a wrestling legend no matter how old they are once they have left the business.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Edge, Bret Hart, JBL, Ron Simmons, William Regal, or Trish Stratus. Also I wouldn't be too surprised if Matt Morgan doesn't show back up on the roster.

As for Flair, he'll sign a legends contract and won't wrestle, he'll do more of a managerial type role if anything. He is offically done with TNA, that is 100% certain.

Nothing wrong with Vader getting the pop, he's been there once in how long, compared to the guys there every week.
