Ummm the Heat are the biggest draw in the NBA with Lebron James and OKC has Kevin Durant who everyone lives and is arguably the best player in the league. Its a great matchup. I guarantee if it was Spurs/Heat the ratings wouldn't be this high

no other matchup would be as highly rated as this one and i live in boston which is a major market. like what was stated above, you have the 2 biggest draws in the game in lebron and durant...also theres a lot of people who want to see lebron fail, so they are tuning in...you also have the pacific northwest interested b/c okc used to be seattle....and you have ohio area with a lot of interest b/c james used to play there....when you factor in all this stuff in, the nba got its dream matchup....

i disagree, ya LA is 1 major market but its same old same old with the lakers....they have been there so many times the last decade....same with boston been there a couple times last few years the draw just isnt as high as these 2 teams with some young superstars...the only team i think could have a mega draw would be the knicks, huge market and the linsanity would be insane and everyone would tune in....but noway the ratings would be as high if it was LAL/Boston

it's amazing the ratings are this high when i literally don't know anyone (other than my gambling buddies) over the age of 30 who cares about the nba

I agree with this statement, but so many people watch the finals because there is nothing else to do at this time of year.

enjoy it while it lasts because once lebron gets the first ring, no one will give a shit about the heat anymore.

Proves a couple things. Proves the NBA finals are match up proof, and 2 major markets arnt needed for high ratings. Also a great article on forbes on how big the game has gotten globally, 50 percent of the audience are international.

Matchup proof, lol....

Put the Nets back in there with those JKidd/KMartin teams and lets see how matchup proof it is. Obviously Miami/OKC (like Miami/Dallas) is a great matchup for the NBA.

The nba needs to keep fixing the games so he never gets one in 3 years the ratings will be in the 30s

OKC is a new team that brings a whole new excitement to the NBA. You pair that with a big market like Miami with Lebron and you can't lose.
