Been running bad:

6-16-12
The Phillies, who have lost 11 of their last 14, fell to 1-8 in games decided in the final at-bat. Shortstop Jimmy Rollins also made a costly throwing error, the team's 14th miscue in 10 games.

I say no. If they could have kept it within 5-6 games, possibly. We're approaching July and the injuries keep piling up. They just lost Ruiz...

They sold their farm system to "win now"....so they have some decisions to make...

Zippy chance the Phillies make the playoffs.

Their fans are using injuries as excuses, but the fact of the matter is the team is old and finished. They won't sniff the Nationals jock strap for the next 5-10 years. Utley and Howard are both on the downside of their careers. Even if they were playing, the Phillies would still be a .500 team at best. The fans talk about Halladay being hurt, but they never mention he was not that great this season. The innings have finally caught up to old roy.

Phillies fans have a long and humbling road ahead of them.

While i dont think they make the playoffs....you are probably getting a bit ahead of yourself with the nats. They lost a bunch of games because of their defense and bullpen has failed... wigginton is a disaster at any position and has cost them games when polanco is hurt. Look at their errors and mid relief...thats where they are losing right now. Making a ton of mental errors they wouldnt make with utley and howard there. You can say excuses or whatever but when a team loses 3 and 4 hitters it can be tough

dont get crazy with the nats...good team but phillies are like yanks and red sox of natl league....they will buy their way out....5-10 years is crazy to say about a team like nats who have been a losing org for years

By not using papelbon in the 8th or on tie games in the 9th,they blew at least 5 games. He must have something in the contract not to pitch 2 innings or the coach is just plain stupid!

Slumping Philadelphia, the last-place team in the NL East, lost for the 12th time in 15 games.
