Visa. Hardly ever use cash.

I never carry a balance though. Pay it off every month. Costs me $0 per year to do this. No interest. No fees.

People that dont do this, are throwing away free money....

I pay it off every month. All my bills (that allow) go on my credit card. Overall with bonuses on certain credit cards and how much I get in points from flights, I average about 5% back and probably charge $75,000 a year or so?

So if I didn't use credit cards, I'm throwing almost $4,000 on the ground

Guess in some cases having a credit card that gives you either cash back or points towards stuff would be good.
Overall I still like cash.

If you find yourself using cash more often ask yourself this simple question...

Are you a bookie or a drug dealer???

If you answered no, then get with the program and get a rewards card!! You are throwing money away!! Not to mention it is just plain ignorant to walk around with hundreds of dollars in cash on yourself.

I use a credit card for every purchase I make. Transfer payment instantly and get the points ...also safer if a dispute arises

You are showing your age...LOL

Most of the old timers I know still pay cash for everything...
more people should follow his advice. He is showing his smarts IMO.

The CC companies are killing you guys with the interest. CC are crack cocaine for millions of you. They spend hundreds of millions a years with commercial telling you that you need CC's. You don't.

I paid my CC off in 2003 and haven't used on for any reason since and my bank account is the better for it.

yes of course but that's only if you pay it off each month.

You may the exception and if you are, then good on you but the fact is that hardly anyone are disciplined to pay it off each month. The CC companies knows that.

Life is much simplier that way.

If I need a couple of buckets of gas, I just trade a car radio or something to one of the folks I know who deal with gas.

The key is to have a strong network of folks, who are willing and able to all work togather to get the things you all need.
