Wednesday: 8-4, + 5.1 units

A lot of posters are doing well lately. I guess we all know being this hot can't last forever. Maybe not even another week. I think that we slog along around .500 for most of the season, then get hot occasionally. Or cold occasionally. Hopefully, more hot than cold. The best teams win 90+ games while the worst teams win 60-70 games. Therefore we need to look at the underdogs seriously and remember baseball is a game of inches and subtle differences.

Taking it easy Thursday.
Detroit: ML one unit. Jacob Turner looks like he actually is ready for the big time. Good downward movement on his fastball and a plus curve. The Tigers will play up because of the young guy on the mound, knowing their gloves and bats might have to win this game. I also think the Tigers loss Wednesday was a blip, and that they are beginning to hit. The Cardinals only have 3 high scoring games this month, and don't have the right handed hitters to take advantage of Turner (who is RHP). Lohse is not as good as he has pitched and pitches to contact. That will catch up to him(hopefully Thursday). Detroit has the power advantage and are at home.

No units on LAD, but Kershaw got hot last year about this time. Small on LAD. Also Oakland poor hitters vs.;lefties.

Thanks for the ML call instead of the -1 call Fred. It made all the difference in the world!

Everything worked out in that game except Lohse pitched far better than expected.

Boston.- 1/2 first 5 innings. Taking Dice K at home is chancy, but very few of the Marlins have ever seen him. Zambrano's back so affected him his last start he walked 6 in less than 3 IPs, and was pulled early. Being Mr. Macho was not a good idea and Ozzie Guillen didn't appreciate it. Of course, they're 2 peas in a pod, so I guess what goes around comes around. As you can tell, I don't like the Marlins. Bias aside, the Red Sox also have some good left handed hitters, and some righties who can hit RHP. I just expect Zamrano to flame out worse than Dice K earlier and after 5, you're on your own. I worry about Logan Morrison too who seems to love Fenway. Maybe not seeing Dice K before will help. Red Sox finally have hope- only 6 games out, and some players about to return from the DL. Optimism leads to good things. One unit.

Under 24.5 H+R +E in Nats/ Tampa game. One unit. Both of these pitchers have been good limiting hits to their opponents (runs too). Their IP:Hit ratios are very good, Moore as of late and Gio all year. I personally don't like either lineup too. Both have decent or better BPs.

* Tempted to take Phillies TT against Francis. He's not as bad as Alex White maybe, and I don't trust the Phillies.

I just want to apologize for not being on the over- first 5 in this game. These 2 pitchers might give up 10+. I knew Dice K couldn't hold runners, can't pitch in Fenway….ugh!

Apology accepted...LOL

If there is one guy that doesn't have to apologize for anything...it's you.
