Some Interesting stuff

Made for Intelligent and Intuitive Interaction

Smart enough to detect your face, voice and motions, the Galaxy S III provides a more convenient and natural way for you to interact so it fits seamlessly into your daily routine.

Let your eyes control the display: Thanks to the Smart Stay feature, the screen display will remain bright as long as you're looking at the phone. Set it down, and it dims instantly. Because the front-facing camera can identify your eyes—while reading an e-book or browsing the web, for instance—it recognizes how you are using your phone and provides a bright display accordingly.
Tell your phone what to do: The S Voice™ feature enables the Galaxy S III to actually listen and respond to your words: tell it to wake up, snooze, take a photo, answer a call, send a text message or play a favorite song.
Go from texting to talking in an instant: If you're text messaging with a friend, you can easily switch to calling them instead with the Direct Call feature. Simply lift the phone to your ear, and it automatically dials their number.
Don't miss a message: If you've been away from your phone, the Smart Alert feature will give you a vibrating nudge to let you know about missed calls and messages.
Control your world with just a tap: Easy-to-use Samsung TecTiles™ programmable NFC tags can be customized to launch apps, send text messages, share contact information, change phone settings and more, with an NFC-enabled Galaxy smartphone. Learn more about TecTiles.

Galaxy S3 is pretty much it right now, I think, as far as Android goes. The HTC One X is also very nice.

Yeah, I like HTC phones... They get a lot of community support. I still love my G2, but that's only because a third-party developed an Android 4.0 rom for it.

think the samsung has dual core 1.5 ghz processor and 2gb a ram to run the phone alone.. along with possible 32gb of phone storage without a card. This is really a neat feature but i am hoping the Droid's by motorola come up with something in the next 6 months (prolly by xmas) to blow those stats out of the water.

to compare with sprint's current android super phone the HTC EVO 4G LTE it has only 1gb ram but same processor.

Verizon up and coming phones should include more 1.5ghz or higher processors (2.0 would be insane but coming someday) and 2gb a ram to match would make the phone faster than most computers ;)

add in 4G service and u might have the first hand held real laptops.. now if only these phones could run all our fav window based programs and we wouldnt need comps anymore :p

my best advice is keep waiting. BUT even once u do buy.. the next 1-3 months something better will hit the market.. .. dont let it discourage u because the technology will always keep improving and its cool to get a new phone every 12-36 months anyway which keeps u up with the newer technical aspects and makes enjoyability of the phone better.

as far as that samsung phone goes.. if u dont know if u will like it (i believe u are with verizon).. keep in mind u have 14 days to return and swap or change ur mind on any product u buy with them directly.. use it to your advantage to test and get acclimated with these phones and see if the style is something u would like. The only thing changes is the brand.. the android software will be the most up to date available and will surely impress u more anyway with new features u dont have and the same ones u love and are used to already.

as far as the razar maxx 2 coming.. nothing as of yet I found. BUT verizon dropped prices recently on them which usually means they are selling them in big batches before they release the same comparable phone 2 soon ;)

for specs comparison.. maxx has 1.2 ghz and only 1gb ram

Thanks Murph, I will probably wait... and Yes I'm with verizon
which also makes me wait a little longer because I have the Unlimited Data plan for $29.99 and when you Upgrade they will switch it to their New Share Plan

So I could hold out for now...probably see what's coming after the Summer.

I think someone could create a thread called "anyone have any advice on which butt lube to use", and Murph would be c/ping wikipedia results in the threasd to catch a mods attention.

keep in mind if u DO upgrade to a new phone before July they WILL let u keep the grandfathered 29.99 unlimited and not make u switch plans.. if u wait, u will be forced to switch.. BUT i do think there is room for negotiations if ur plan is going up and ur on a single plan instead of share.

i have asked these questions myself as I can upgrade now too if I so choose, but I am waiting because of phone selections.

I am in unlimited just as u.. I told them its forcing me to look elsewhere for phone service and i probably wont upgrade.. but they assured me that I can keep old plan and not change it if I do it before July whatever.. check into it this week and u will hear the same answer I hope ;)

boat... the above recommendations by me in last post are my own words.. i dunno if i would answer a butt lube question or not.. but if i used Wikipedia i would give them reference back ;) :toast:

I thought the unlimited was already gone last summer?

ahhhhhhhhhhhh, just re-read.

Yes, if you ALREADY have it, you can keep it thru one more new phone upgrade cycle.

im not sure bout this in particular boat.

I just know I told them my exact scenario.

Currently I am paying 29.99 for unlimited data.. I use between 3-5gb min a month (sometimes 5-10gb).. if I were to join a plan even if I used wifi EVERYWHERE i go, then I would need at minimum 3gb of data a month which is $50 I think.

to show that people are getting the same answer as I did u can take the quote from an article here.. looks like June 28th is the last date to stay unlimited.

The plan change for Verizon begins June 28. If you upgrade your plan in the next two weeks, you can hang on to your current contract for the next two years. And if you've been hanging on to an old unlimited plan, you will also need to upgrade before June 28 -- otherwise the next time you upgrade, you'll have to get the Share Everything Plan.

i wouldn't get too wrapped up in specs though... there are a lot of neat devices that do more with less. for instance, no phone multi-tasks better than an (old, at this point) Nokia N900 (see the video - the guy's data connection sucks, but oh well). That said, I would never recommend one at this point. But it's snapdragon processor is super old, however it still does this one thing really well.

One thing you might look into BAS, is rooting your current phone and installing a new rom to get a fresh look and feel... not sure how comfortable you'd be doing that kind of thing, but it's free aside from your time.
