Friday:1-7, -9.1 units

I was overdue for a bad day, and man was it a bad one. When Ryan Cook blew that save last night, I knew it was real ugly. No regrets though. Who would have known Jurrjens would pitch like that? Bobby Valentine said he looked good to hit. Maybe the Sox were too anxious- they made contact, just bad contact.

I do like 2 day games today.

ST. Louis: Jon Jay's return seemed to boost the Cardinal attack last night. Mazzaro was due to get hammered as Mendoza is today. Both sub-standard righties. I like the over 5 TT for St. Louis. One unit.

Texas: Josh Outman is almost the perfect pitcher for Texas. He is a flyable, lefty in a dry climate, with bad control. No time for a big write-up, but I think with the Rockies bullpen, Texas might score 8-10 runs.
Texas TT over 6- 2 units
Texas RL. One unit.

Astros TT over 4. One unit. Gomez has been awful in his last 5 starts. The Astros lineup is loaded with guys that are either lefties (Gomez is RHP), or hit right handed pitching much better. Considering that Keuchel might only get 1 or 2 at bats, you'll see some PHs too. The back end of the Indian BP is good but the middle guys are poor. Considering that Gomez has only been going 4 or 5 innings, we'll likely see them.

Twins ML first 5 innings. Duensing can give the Twins a good 3-5 innings. He has worked well in the pen, and has a plus slider to go with low 90s fastball. Reds hitting has definitely cooled down. +180 is a generous number. Cueto is tough, but hoping the Twins lefties can get to him.

Any thoughts on Mariners tonight? King Felix got hit hard by the Pads 2 starts ago but I think that might give us a nice opportunity at a cheap line. Marquis may have looked good last start, but he's been awful the rest of the season. Strong lean to Mariners

Also, although marquis shut out the Mariners 2 starts ago, he was lucky in stranding 10 base runners. WHIP of 1.58 in that game should have translated into a few runs.

Texas just got their 6. At least push on the TT.

As for Seattle tonight, I am really looking hard at that one. Lots of positives for Mariners, especially their hitting on the road and vs. RHP. The negative is that it's in Petco. Felix is not quite himself, but he does have an expansive repertoire, is the ultimate competitor and can pitch well even with his velocity not up to the norm.

Yeah I've been very impressed how he's developed into more of a pitcher than a thrower as his velocity has dipped. Gotta think he wants to prove something after getting roughed up by the pads last go around.

The game I'm most sold on is the Brewers. NL team, but other than being shut down by Sale last night(which happens to everyone), they are beginning to hit well. Axelrod is truly marginal. It shows how desperate the Sox are with all their pitching injuries. He barely hits 85 on his fastball, with an underwhelming repertoire of pitches. Got hit at AAA in 3 of his last 4. His slider will make or break him. Me thinks the Brewers will lay off the low ones, hoping to get the walks or for Axelrod to bring it up in the zone. Randy Wold gets a bad rep, but I think he is underrated. With his stuff, he pitches as well as he can. White Sox are definitely in a slump, at least a lot of their hitters are.
Brewers. ML. Two units
Brewers. -1/2 first 5 IP. One unit

Also like the under H+R+E on Angels game. Under 26.5. Santana did this last year. After staring slowly, went on a tear. Dodger might of beat up Haren last night, but he's been pitching terribly lately. I'm thinking the LAD are still not hitting, and Santana will shut them down. Capuano has only had 1 bad start all year, and is a tough lefty. Both have good BPs. one unit(large)
Also, under 7.5 one unit. Angels / LAD
Angels -1. One unit.

Giants-1. One unit. Bumgarner keeps the ball down, great control. Tyson Ross, a RHP, has Giants lefties and a heavy breeze blowing out to RF tonight. Giants are a different hitting team of late, and got to be pumped after last night's win.
Giants -1/2 First 5IPs. One unit. Just really like the pitching matchup early.

I think we'll see some early scoring in the SD- Seattle game. Over 3.5 runs for the first 5 IPs. One unit.
SEattle over 3.5 TT for one unit. Marquis has not magically turned into an ace.
