Baltimore is sending out a stud of a pitcher in J. Hammel; he has dominated both Washington (slumping at that time) & Atlanta (mediocre play).

Los Angeles Angels are countering with J. Weaver - he was limited to only 78-PC in his first outing off the DL.

There is sharp money coming in on Baltimore and that is understandable. My problem with the O's tonight is that they have scored under 10 runs in their past 4 games, and have only 9 innings in which they have scored 4 or more.

I am not expecting Weaver to throw a gem - he pitched very well earlier in the season against Baltimore. ***He also had some trouble earlier this season with tonight's home plate umpire, Kerwin Danley, allowing 4BBs against only 4Ks against the lowly San Diego Padres.

Another concern is that Baltimore is getting a second look at Weaver this season, and L.A. has not seen Hammel yet in 2012.

I think L.A. is starting to climb up to the peak with their SLG% (a stat I hold dearest) - they were 1-8 w/ RISP last night. They did however get a chance to rough up the O's bullpen a bit yesterday. L.A. also got a deep outing from starter C.J. Wilson - so should Weaver only go 6 to 7 IP then the BP can step up and make the bridge to the W.

Baltimore is going to need to rely on a gem from Hammel, this is going to be a tall order as there is really no easy part to the Angels lineup. I think the O's are going to have to score 4 or more runs to win this one...that is not playing into their strength at the moment.

Selection is posted in my season-long thread.
