McDonald's Introduces S'mores Pie for Summer

In advance of National S'mores Day and National S'mores Month, which both fall in August, McDonald's has added a new dessert to their roster: Baked S'mores Pie.

Dessert sightings were first reported in Florida, where customers said the marshmallow and chocolate-filled hand-held pies were coming out of McDonald's oven. But we learned the campfire favorite is actually now offered nationwide. McDonald's locations across the country began selling the sweet on June 18 with confirmation from the mega-chain's publicist that the product will be available for a limited time through September 11, 2012. (Eleven days past the honorary month.)

How does the baked pie hold up against its fire-roasted sibling?

According to the blog theimpulsivebuy.com, the warm pie was brimming with chocolate, which leaned more towards dark than milk, and it was "buttery, dense, and mercifully not too sweet." Though the chocolate and marshmallow is enveloped in a graham cracker-based pie crust, the shell, unfortunately, didn't get the thumbs up from the blogger.

Wonder how the nutritional profile for Baked S'mores stacks up? It's got 290 calories, 12 fat grams, 41 grams of carbs, and 210 mg sodium. On the bright side, the dessert gives you 2g of your daily fiber!

Tried it and it was horrible. McDonald's is one of the best fast food places when it comes to constantly introducing new items that people love but this one sucks.

If you ever get the urge to go back, watch Super Size Me and that'll put an end to it.

I read an article posted on a health forum a while back (I will try and find it) it talked about how Soda may have been more to blame with his health problems than the food itself. I cant remember but I think he was drinking a 64oz dr.pepper with every meal?

From the things I've read about Morgan Spurlock, he did Supersize Me because he's against eating meat. And he doesn't like big corporations. Plus he ate an insane amount of food in that month. Like the equal of 9 Big Macs a day. And that's not counting the 64 oz sodas and apple pies he wolfed down. Plus he did nothing in the way of exercise. I don't care which fast food place you eat at, it would cause the same results. He just chose the biggest one to make his point. But the point of view was definitely tilted away from the norm. Which is the way many documentaries tend to be for shock value and to draw a bigger audience.

Correct.
I saw super size me and that did not keep me from going there.

Then I saw a YOUTUBE about there chicken and beef products and how they are processed. That was what kept me away.

Just type in Chicken and Mcdonalds on YOUTUBE.
If every American did that MCdonalds would have to close half there locations.

And I have little to no doubt that Burger King, Wendy's and Taco Bell is just as bad off as McDonalds.

Thats why the only fast food places I will go to is Subway, Quiznos, and JimmyJohns.

Didn't they have some kind of scandal a few months ago that Taco Bell doesn't put real meat in their tacos? They must have done a little damage control and swept it under the rug.

It's kind of funny to see a place like TB using caulking guns to dispense ingredients.

Pretty much all of the places mentioned are unhealthy options, real restaurants aren't much better. Servings are too large. I can never finish a restaurant meal in one sitting.

I think it was more like low grade meat. Most dog food is "meat-based".
