You should do a search for asus reviews and you'll have all the geeks giving you first hand honest reviews. That's the best way to go.

they have a really wide range as well - many different lines

I had a cheap little netbook from them...thing worked great until it got fried by a power surge.

I have one of those as well 10" netbook - it's fine, I installed a lightweight linux distro on it. runs well.

I have an Asus "O Play" - its a media device for streaming video from a hard drive to a TV. Works great. Its the only device I found that supports menus from DVD rips.

Will definitely consider Asus next time I'm in the market for a computer (which will probably be in the fall when Windows 8 ships)
