Help Please

I have gotten a check from a book and i deposit into my bank five days later i received a letter from bank that Foreign collection iteam and the amount was taken away as this happend to anyone? When i called the book they said deposit through ATM and not inside. Please help.

Not sure difference it ATM and inside its processed by same bank.

I recived a check from book that i deposited into my bank after four days i received a letter from my bank that the amount has been cancelled do to foreign collection itam. I called the book and they said that i should of made the deposit through the ATM and not through the teller inside.

More than likely the bank has realized its a foreign bank check and has placed a "hold" on the funds until the check clears. The reason to deposit thru ATM instead of inside is it will go into a big pile of checks to be processed and be less likely to be investigated by the bank than if you hand it to a teller who will immediately see it is foreign and freak the F out.....
They probably dont suspect it is from a book but more likely they are worried its something like a Nigerian scam.....

Some banks are harder to deposit a foreign check. Which bank was it ??
was it a Credit union Bank ?? because that won't work.

Campus USA Credit union. Which is only in florida

You need to get the Check and take it to like a Chase bank or BOA

just open a new account with $50 bucks or something. You should be fine.

Credit Union banks do Not like foreign checks.
