I haven't watched MLB in a week and feel completely out of touch, cannot imagine trying to handicap a game.....

Anyone here handicap games and only rarely watch games?

Do you find you win more the more you watch? I do for sure.

Never watch baseball...of course I don't handicap it either. I follow a couple of guys on this site and have done pretty well this year so far. I do pay attention to totals and pitching match-ups though - occasionally I will make a small play against a guy if he is struggling or vice versa. Same deal with totals...if the bats are hot I ride em.

I'm probably 50/50 , i watch about half my bets and dont watch about half my bets.

I certainly dont feel like i need to watch games to handicapp them , and if i do watch a game to try and learn something i follow pops69 advise and do so with the tv muted , cant learn much with the talking heads blowing hot air , they'll lead you astray.

Don't watch a lot of games in any sport except football but have never felt that one has to watch games to effectively handicap them. That, of course, doesn't apply to the horses.

well for one, a ton of games are not on tv, although u could go to the wnba site and watch them. its just a smaller league, so not a ton of players, so its easier to get to know players (their quality) and the playing style of coaches/teams. i pretty much can create a line off my gut knowledge of teams, compare it to the ones the books have, and then just check for injuries i might have missed and go from there. like yesterday, i liked the over in sea/ny, total was 140. came out and had a horrible first half, 55 pts at halftime. but the pace was there, was just alot of running around and ineffectiveness. i doubled up on the 2h over 70.5 and they came out and combined for 50 pts in the third qtr, needing only over 20.5 in 4th qtr. game ended up at 136 final, so lost original bet, but still made cash on the game with the 2 unit 2h bet, so watching this game saved me, as i probably wouldnt have chased if i didnt see the pace

Even though I'll bet it, I never watch MLB until the WS, and even then I watch it sparingly.
