'Eastbound & Down' renewed for 4th Season

"Eastbound & Down" is going into extra innings.

HBO's "Eastbound & Down," which stars Danny McBride as self-destructive former pro pitcher Kenny Powers, has received the green light for a fourth season.
HBO has picked up the series for eight additional episodes.

The pick-up comes as a surprise, as it was widely believed that last year's third season would be the show's last, with co-creator Jody Hill admitting, "We always pictured the show as lasting three seasons. It's a kind of trilogy. ... We think it's going to be the last one, but never say never."

I don't know about that last statement. When the show first came out and after the 1st season was over, I specifically remember them all saying that they only envisioned it going for 1 season and that they would have to think about doing a 2nd.

I agree, but season 1 & 2 was very funny, it had room to go downhill.

At the start of season 3 I asked my boss if he ever heard of this show. He never heard of it. I told him to watch because it was funny. I think he tried to watch episode 2 or 3 of season 3 with his wife. The next day he tells me that show was stupid. He wife hated it. He also was falling asleep while trying to watch. I'm like your crazy, it still funny but you should watch season 1 & 2. A couple of days later he tells me he watched episodes 2 & 3 without wife and he liked it. He was actually quoting Kenny Fuken Powers in the office and cracking up. He won't admit he likes , but I know he's lying.

I'm thinking of buying season 1&2 on CD than telling him to watch. The more I think about it I do want to own all 4 seasons. I think it's pretty original funny shit.

Season 1 is a classic, season 2 is very good. But you can only do so much with kenny powers

Agree. The season wasn't so bad, until he walked off the mound. How do they recover from that? Regardless, the show is hilarious and good for a few more laughs. They could make at least two or three more seasons...especially considering the seasons are only 6 or 7 episodes each.
