Friday: 7-5, + 3.6 units. Glad to be above 60 units again. Still fuming about losing the Tigers/ KC game. Smyly and Sanchez pitch lights out for 5 innings, when they have both been so dependable giving up early game runs for many weeks. Also disappointed in myself for jumping on the Nats game when Pomeranz has looked so good even prior to tonight's game. And Colvin is on fire. Of course, the Oakland win in extra innings evened all things out. But those damn Tigers……….
KC: ML. One unit. No, this is not spite for Detroit not getting more than 2 runs on that bum Sanchez in the first 5. Nice big plus number of +143. Fister has been completely off his game now for last 2 starts, and his velocity is down. Seems to have lingering effects from his injury. After lefty Smyly befuddled the Royals Friday, maybe a change to a righty will bring their bats alive. They have been hitting well. Also, Detroit has been terrible at scoring. They can hit, but can't seem to capitalize. They have been facing some poor pitching too. Bruce Chen is usually competitive, and KC plays well on the road. They have had some big scoring outbursts lately among their clunkers.
