In other words, it seems that oddsmakers are expecting Texas will win, not by starting pitching, but by out-scoring Minnesota considering the high ml with Oswalt on the mound and a total of 11.

Not my prediction, but that's what I'm driving at.
If you think Minnesota is the play because Oswalt is going to get rocked, then you're main concern of getting beat would be because Texas puts up a ton of runs also and out-scores them in a slug fest (that's what it appears oddsmakers are indicating by setting a high ml and high total).
Another way of looking at it is if Minn wins, then they will likely do it by scoring over 4.5 runs. Therefore, I would think the Minnesota team total over 4.5 would be a better play as opposed to the ml...just in case Texas out-scores the Twins in a high-scoring game.

Oswalt got rocked last game but it may have been blow a little out of proportion as Ron Washington did not want to take him out...trying to preserve the bullpen for the series as it was the first game of that series. Oswalt stayed in and continued to get pounded
Tonight maybe a different story. Wash can use the bullpen quickly if Oswalt gets into trouble early because he will have the all-star break to rest them before the new series starts
