MLB Trade Rumors – Huston Street to San Francisco Giants?
July 11, 2012 08:20 AM EDT
San Francisco has rallied from a slow start this MLB season and are now in the thick of the battle for the NL West crown. The Giants do have a need for help in the bullpen as the team lost closer Brian Wilson and fill-in Santiago Casilla has struggled of late.

The latest baseball trade rumor from Baily Deeter of Bleacher Report suggests the team looks inside its own division for help and acquire Huston Street from the San Diego Padres. The 28-year-old is having a good year with 13 saves and a 1.12 ERA and with the need for another solid pitcher in their bullpen, San Francisco would be wise in trying to acquire the right-hander, even as a short-term solution.

Street has 191 career saves in his eight years in the league and a 3.01 ERA, but his command is superb this season and San Diego could use some young prospects as they look to rebuild yet again.

The 2012 MLB season still is far from over and the Giants have what it takes to succeed, but adding some pitching help would increase the teams chance of making the post-season and possibly winning a World Series title.
