I was in San Jose this week doing some work for Google, so I got to spend my
evenings at Bay 101 Poker Room.

I hadn't played any poker since PokerStars/Full Tilt shut down, so I decided to
play 1/2/2 NL. I hadn't played those blind structures before, but it's basically
button has $1 blind, small and big blinds are $2, and you have to pay $4 to
come in.

The games are juicy, it's common to see someone raise to $15-20 pre-flop and
there be a table full of callers trying to hit their junk hands.

I made some mistakes, and could have played better, but put in 20 hours, and
made $34/hour at that game.

There is a big ~ 8 story building a couple blocks away called the Matrix casino
that is supposed to open (I think it's the Garden City casino re-opening) but
apparently opening has been delayed due to some city regulations/red tape...

On one hand, I wish I lived closer to a poker room like this, but on the other
hand I'm kind of glad I don't, as I'd spend way too much time in there - and
as many over you know, poker rooms are filled with some of the biggest
degenerates around. That being said, this place wasn't as bad as I thought
it would be as far as the quality of clientele. Most people were very cordial.

I always get a kick out of all the idiots wearing their hoodies and dark
sun-glasses at the low limit games, acting like big time poker pros.

Those guys are funny with hoodies and sunglasses. I find it comical even in high stakes games.

haha yeah you got to love the hoodies.

I played just the other day with a table full of the hoodies. All young bucks. I stacked a few of them. One kid kept firing into my flopped fullhouse. He got mad and said what the hell you didn't raise me. lol No dumbass I didn't raise you. Why would I rasie you when you kept betting and at the end had his whole stack in the middle. LOL
