I dont know if this has ever happened to anyone but this is the first I have heard of it.

So my car was broken into Sunday night. I thought nothing was stolen but still called the police. They came out. The thieves robbed my neighbors car also. Got a laptop and some other things. Well today I receive a call from my car insurance company. They are claiming being sued for a car accident taking place Wednesday at 4:15pm (which I can prove I was at work) so I dont believe the guy on the phone hang up and call the insurance company directly. Turns out it was true. The 'victim' is claiming there was bodily harm, a lawyer has filed this claim with the insurance company faulting me. And now we go from here. I am going to submit the police report and probably Lawyer up. I want to stick it to whoever these bastards are for trying to scam me.

I am assuming they just took my insurance card, my Insurance company is saying their claim is shady looking and it is possible my card was taking from valet or car wash which is how they got my info, I neither go to the car wash or ever valet so I know it was from the break in

HAHAHA how could this ever work. These must be hoodrats thinking that this would work. So with no police report about the accident and no call from you the insurance company is just going to send them a check.

This is not even a good scam. This is just hoodrats being hoodrats

The Nigerians probably have a higher success rate than these scammers. I don't see any way something like this would work.

Believe me , here in corruption capital of the south an insurance company will gladly toss them $500 to go away. Ive seen some of the most obvious fraud cases you could dream of get 5 figures of easy money. These lawyers today coming out of SWAC schools , this all they are taught. Its like spamming the courts, they file loads of cases at once and hope 1 or 2 of them pay off...

I guy I know at work wondered if he could get away with sending a bill to thousands of companies for services rendered and have some general comment like "drive by parking lot inspection". Bill them anywhere from $25 to $100. You figure if you bill 1,000 companies, somebody's Accounts Payable department will pay it.
