Well, there seems to be a replacement for FB, the big difference is that the persons become owners of the social network, its currently by invite only.

You can google zurker and get more information if you wish.

Times are changing and fast

Dont knock it, remember myspace etc had a good chunk of the market, times are changing so fast that its interesting to see whats happening with this new social netwrk, because, when you are a member, you own a piece of it, and you more than likely get benefits like $$ in the long run, during the sign up process you are informed of the details, and its invites only right now, as far as owning a piece of it, im in, so check it out if you wish, google it etc or just sign up with the invite

I just read an article today about how all your chats are scanned by Facebook's software. The software flagged a sexual conversation between what it knew was a 30 year old man and a 13 year old girl. They were planning on meeting for sex the next day, but the chat was sent to an employee who called the police. The 30 year old was arrested.

While it is certainly a good thing that it took a sexual predator off the street, it is still a little bit unnerving that private conversations on Facebook are not actually private.

Keep this in mind at all times:

Another thing I read is how in the very near future, pages that you Liked could start posting on your behalf. The article specifically mentioned political posts that may be posted on your behalf whether you agree with them or not. For example, say you Like Obama's page but hate Obamacare. Obama's page could post pro-Obamacare material under your name in your Friend's newsfeeds.

I try to keep political talk to a bare minimum on Facebook. This "feature" would drive me away. Shit like this is going to doom this company. Anyone who bought FB stock is taking a helluva risk, IMO.

Wow thats crazy to arrest him. I'm not sure what the law is but if he never actually met the girl who is to save he would of? Couldn't he of just been some creep flirting with a 13 year old girl online?

Seems like maybe they jumped the gun and he gets off (um...no pun intended)

if you are big on social network scene it seems like a good idea to follow whatever is big and not blaze your own trail or jump on these new sites. i dont see a big benefit of being the first one of your friends. especially if the site never takes off. i had a buddy who posted all the time on a gamers social media site. it was shut down within the first year. his exact words were "i just wasted 12 months of my life" couldnt help but laugh

The police took over the girls Facebook account, arranged a meeting with the dude and arrested him when he showed up to bang her.

Its inevitable that FB site ihas had its time, things are changing rapidly, there are more Social Network sites out now that are cleaner and more nice than FB, and not as advertisement in your face as facebook.

but you gotta give it to facebook, because I think its the first company in history that get free advertisement for its business from other companies around the world, you basically dont see a major company, tv station, DJ, reporter, restaurant, department store, etc who when promoting and advertising dont mention facebook,

Yep. My wife is a news anchor and they have to update their facebook pages all the time and post all of their stories and stuff to it.
