Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant reportedly was arrested Monday in DeSoto, Texas.

According to MyFOXDFW.com, Bryant was charged with a Class A misdemeanor in relation to the assault of a female family member that occurred on Saturday.

The 23-year-old reportedly turned himself in Monday and immediately posted bond.

When contacted by WFAA-TV, Bryant confirmed there was an incident but declined to elaborate.

"I'm good, I'm good," Bryant said.

This isn't the first run-in Bryant has had with the law. Since being drafted by the Cowboys in 2010, the Oklahoma State product has been involved in multiple lawsuits connected with unpaid debts, was given a criminal trespass warning in 2011 after being briefly banned from a Dallas mall and, in January, was involved in an altercation outside of a Miami nightclub that led to him being detained by police.

Not to defend him because he's obviously a troubled young man, but this is his first arrest.

Dallas TV announced that the family victim was his own mother and that he pulled her hair and slapped her in the face

When you are in a position and making the kind of money Dez Bryant is making and behave this way he clearly is
not a big thinker...we've seen it before and will see it again... this kid will be broke in a few years here are some examples
Allen Iverson, Mike Tyson, Terrell owens, Warren Sapp the list goes on and on...What a shame

Probably going to be another Jerry Jones bust. He'll be a future Bengal or Lion.

In other news, Dez Bryant's mother is 37 years old. I think I might see part of the problem.

Don't know the relationship between him and his mother and I will not judge the man since I never walked in his shoes. But from what I read was that he hit his mom with his baseball cap across the top of her head. I equate that to throwing a shoe at a family member or slamming a door in the face of a family member during an argument. No intent to harm just a vent of frustration in the heat of an argument. It's not like he threatened to kill his mother like Charles Rogers did if he didn't get his money from her.

So if your son smacks you on your head with a hat and rips your shirt you're cool with that???, maybe I'm old school but if my son did that to me...I love my son dearly
but I will break my foot off in his little ass if he ever did that

Bryant was kicked out of a mall one time for sagging pants (AS AN ADULT), been detained by police after a nightclub incident (AS AN ADULT), and his mother has multiple arrests for crack cocaine. Which makes this story much less shocking.

Not saying The Bryant household is a stable one but for an arrest to made for domestic violence seems like a reach. I just don't see an intent to harm.

.<!-- series --><!-- /series --><!-- Aka Story Package --><!-- gallery-preview --><!-- /gallery-preview --><!-- Aka Secondary Package -->Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant has spent the bulk of his NFL career trying to improve his image.

He took a step back Sunday.
Bryant had a pair of meltdowns on the sidelines during the Cowboys' gut-wrenching 31-30 setback in Detroit. It was so bad, that FOX commentator and former coach Brian Billick stated, “Dez is doing his spoiled child routine, again.”
No doubt Bryant was feeling the pressure after making mid-week statements in regards to his standing next to the NFL's best receiver, Calvin Johnson.
Bryant stated that he can do anything Johnson's does, but it didn't appear that way through three quarters of this game.
He had two catches for 22 yards at that point. The disturbing part is that the Cowboys' 13-10 lead mattered little to the selfish Bryant when he exploded on anyone who would listen, including quarterback Tony Romo.
When the Lions grabbed the lead with 12 seconds left, Mt. St. Bryant exploded again in the direction of Jason Witten and a shouting match ensued — we would take Witten in a fifth round TKO — that needed to be broken up.
Johnson finished with 329 yards and proved he was the better receiver Sunday. And we don't expect that to change anytime soon.
But Bryant proved something as well. No matter how far he has come as a player, he still needs a lesson in class and how to be a good teammate.

I hate the cowboys. But Bryant's TD catch today was brilliant. Too bad he is a bitch that plays for the cowgirls
