I seen in kidman's thread that there is interest for a higher stakes league. Figure I will start a thread about it because I was going to before I seen interest anyway.

$500 10 team league, Snake draft style

I like yahoo as far as the site to use, they even have a free app that is pretty slick that I have been using the past couple years. We will have to have a mod or someone trustworthy hold the funds.

or how about sending half to hache and half to someone else just in case one of the people stiffs we wont lose it all.

I wanna do it I just have a feeling people won't want the same league parameters as I will....

1. Auction (drafts suck, c'mon!)
2. I don't really like the idea of playoffs, I like the points champion getting a decent chunk of the $, like 50/50.
3. Atleast 12 teams, 10 sucks.

I like the auction idea. Never did it. How is the learning curve?
Can someone who has never done an auction win in year 1?

I like 12 team if we can get it.
If not it will be 10.

I dont like the idea of no playoffs.
I dont like total points.

If real football was like that my saints would have won the SB 5 years in a row. LOL

Nah, there is still a playoffs. I just mean whoever wins the playoffs only gets 1/2 the money and whoever was the best team from weeks 1-14 cumulatively gets the other half.

Auction isn't too tough to learn, its still just fantasy football. Arian Foster goes for 60, Rice 58, etc...You can get who you want though atleast whereas draft basically a slave to your position.

9/2 works for me

rather have draft than auction. Never did an auction, too lazy to do all the homework now. Don't think my 1st auction experience should be in a $ 500 league

Yeah totally fair. To putup $500 in a format you have never tried is a bit much, I understand that and I'm sure Chop feels same way...

I just hate drafts, its like you get the 6th pick unless you wanna show you have a ton of balls you are basically picking between 3 guys. Auction you can get pretty much anyone you want based on their market value, supply/demand etc...

I would not mind an auction. But I certainly understand Willie.

Getting 10 people in a $500 auction is a pipe dream.

Pats if you want maybe we can start a $100 auction league for people like me who have never tried it.

Yeah that might work. I agree 500/auction pipedream.

$100 auction could work, even that seems like it might be pushing it though

You might get an auction to work if you would allow people to own multiple teams.
