Comic actor Fred Willard was arrested after he was caught masturbating in a Hollywood porn theater.
Police sources told TMZ that the 72-year-old star of “A Mighty Wind” and “Best in Show” was seen by undercover vice cops with his genitals exposed and in his hand Wednesday night at the Tiki Theater on Santa Monica Blvd.
He was booked on a charge of lewd conduct at around 8:45 p.m. and released a short time later, the website reported.
Willard is rumored to be starring in an upcoming film titled “The Yank,” according to the Internet Movie Database - but the comedy tells the story of an Irish American who travels to his ancestral homeland to find love, so Willard probably can’t claim his alleged escapades at the Tiki as research.
In addition to his arrest, the actor's professional career has suffered its first setback. According to TMZ, Willard has since lost his job as narrator of PBS' new show "Market Warriors."
It was not known which of the three adult films showing at the theater - "Follow Me 2," "Step Dad No. 2" and a porno spoof of the TV series “The Client List” - he was viewing when he was caught with his pants down.
