I saw a mom talking about this on television today and couldn't figure out why not.

Would love to hear from a supporter who doesn't think their kid should be vaccinated.

Whatever the schools make them get, it's in the wife's hands for most everyone I'd assume.

sister of a friend of mine didn't get the kid vaccinated for mumps... then, of course, the kid got mumps. Surprise. That's about my only experience with the issue.

My little one is getting all his shots/vaccines right on schedule...insurance covers it so it would just be laziness/neglect to not have it done.

Don't schools require documentation that a child was vaccinated?

My youngest son hasn't had any since around age two. My other three had all of theirs. The reason he didn't, and he's now eight, is because of severe food allergies, especially to corn.

He developed really bad eczema around two, and when we had him tested it seemed as though he was allergic to almost all foods, including cats and dogs, and of course stuff like grass and pollen.

We've had to really restrict what he could eat over the years, making it seem almost impossible for him to eat most foods. Try finding foods that don't have corn or gluten in it. It seems that corn is in everything, including medicine in some form.

Now that he's eight, he's really starting to be able to tolerate more regular foods. He still suffers from eczema, although not nearly as bad as before.

I will say this, he's been the healthiest of all the kids. He's never had any ear infections, which is pretty common with younger kids, or strep throat, which one of the kids always seems to pick up every year while in school.

I'm not kidding when I tell you he's maybe been sick once or twice in eight years.

Is he aware of his allergies or do you guys have to meet with the school cafeteria and arrange something before school starts?

No, he knows about them and knows what he can and can't eat. I'm guessing since he's had them since around two he's used to it. He has Benadryl at school which he can use if needed. The benadryl is filled at a compound pharmacy. It's just basically the active ingredient and water I think.

He'll start 3rd grad this year and the school nurse knows him well so we have no problems.

Parents who give their kid vaccinations are mainly clueless about what is in them & how unhealthy they are for their children. How about researching before just giving your kids something all because most sheep do so as well. Any school requiring them is full of it as they ignore the laws that are on the books.

All 50 states require vaccines for a child to enroll in school. What would you do, keep your child out of school?
