Do you ever go on EBAY and laugh to yourself about the money people throw away on listing fees on items that will never sell for asking price?

Look at this listing.
Selling a Barry Bonds ungraded 1987 topps baseball card ungraded for $100 bucks starting bid.

This card is not worth 50 cents.

This person just wasted big money listing something for 100 bucks.
Money down the drain.

Its not just baseball cards.
If you go to the completed auctions section you will notice that probably 90% of the things that get listed go un bought on EBAY.

How many hundreds of millions of dollars each year EBAY gets from sellers who put things up for bid that does not have a snowballs chance of selling.

I laugh at some of the asking prices people ask for some things on EBAY.
Just do a tad of research please before you waste you money listing something.

If you have an item thats selling for $10 dont put an opening bid for $50.
You are just throwing money in the trash.

That baseball card they are selling for $100 is virtually worthless.
I have over 100 of them.

I bet I could not give that card away on EBAY if I tried. Yet some clown is on there paying good money just to throw it down the drain.

I'm not 100% certain but I believe you aren't charge if your item doesn't sell.

I laugh more (or get pissed) at guys such as in your example Chop who list outrageous prices trying to rip people off.

I've thought that someone should create a forum specifically listing topics and threads exposing ebayers trying to rip people with off with idiotic prices and other similar subjects...

I think so. You don't get charge until they're sold.

If no one buys it, then it just keep re-listing.

You can relist one time for free. After that it cost.

And you are obligated to pay the original listing fee regardless.

you cant put an item for bid and it not sell and then tell ebay nevermind.

You have the option of listing it one more time at no additional charge but you are still on the hook for the original listing.

Basically it boils down to you can list something twice for the price of one.

YOU have to be a major power seller to get those kind of perks.
They do offer are certain amount of free listings per month for the high volume power sellers, but those listings are not offered free for the vast majority.

They changed about a year ago. First 50 auction-style listings per month are free.
