Incredibly dumb "newbie" TV question

I have a 42 inch Phillips LCD that is high def as my main TV.

Just recently subscribed to DirecTV in which I got a High Def DVR receiver and another two regular High Def receivers.

Is there anything that I need to do to make sure I'm getting high def besides connecting an HDMI cord from the DirecTv receiver to my TV? I assume if I do that, there is no need for the red/white/yellow input cords then?

Make sure you are subscribed to hd programming

Gotcha. Just checked and I do. For a second I was convinced I had gotten HD receivers but failed to actually sign up for the HD programming. All is well after I buy a few HDMI cables. Thanks Chop.

That's one of the most overlooked things when it comes to newbies and hd.Just because you have an hd receiver , does not mean you have hd programming .
I had to ask
