I mean, the Gov. makes it to damn easy for these fucking leaches.

Most stay on, because jobs don't pay dick and they are making more sitting on there fat ass drinking beer.

Gov. needs to quit spoon feeding these system feeders and FORCE them to work.

I've paid into this god awful shit since I was 13 and it pisses me off.

Ok, I feel better now

my dad is on disability for about a year now. he did impaired risk life insurance for around 25 or so years. reading over peoples medical history and rating them for life insurance. mostly did people with cancer, heart attacks etc, but also use to do athletes and other million+ insurance policy requests. about 2-3 years back his work started to suffer and his rating as an agent went from one of the top in the company to almost dead last for quality of work. he was forgetting to call people back, write down notes in cases, re-reading pages he just read bc he forgot what was on the page he had just read. He was suffering from absent minded seizures where he would just blank out for moments at a time and not remember anything. He ended up getting let go right as he was about to go on company disability for work performance. Since then he has gone for all types of tests and scans and is on alzheimer medication, not allowed to drive anymore, and they also have him sleep with a breathing mask for sleep apnea. At this point i cant see him going back to work eventhough he wants to work bc he is bored, bc honestly i think he would get fired from any decent job. hes very skiddish and gets side tracked easily now, forgets what he was doing in the middle of simple tasks and moves on to something else.

i agree, lots of people they show on tv who are out on disability seem to be getting a free ride though

agreed. at this point i think he could do something simple like be a walmart greater or some shit like that, but who wants to do that. he was making like 75k+ most of his life and like you said, he paid in all of those thousands upon thousands of dollars in taxes, so he might as well take it now that he needs it before social security and what not kicks in.

I am a life insurance sales agent and talk to people all day long across the country about their health. I try to uncover risk on the phone to generate an accurate quote.

You would be amazed the the number of people out there in the USA that are disabled, looking for life insurance... and swear they are as healthy as they have ever been in their lives. I try not to be judgemental b/c i am sure there is more to individual stories than I get to know... but dayum.. it is stupifying how many disabled people I talk to that try to convince me they should qualify for the best risk classes. It's obvious many of them are just living off Uncle Sam and they just don't want to go back to work. Quite sad really. I am sure we have some lurkers or posters that fall into this category - believe it - it's an epidemic.

Just curious what do you do in that spot? If they got their gov $ they can pay the life insurance and if they are healthy you should take them shouldn't you? Also without working and getting a free ride maybe live longer cause less stress? Although poorer people like that tend to live shorter lives.

It depends on the amount of cvg they are seeking and how they treat their "disability". If a 50 yr old on disability making 24k a year wants a 1 million dollar policy to protect family... it's not a good risk. That person is now worth more dead than alive with 1 mil in cvg. So that biz is rejected. (is the person looking to comitt suicide to protect family?). The fakers who want a smaller amount of cvg can usually get approved. It just amazes me how many times I get a faker on the phone and they claim they are in perfect health. If that's the case... GO back to work ! ya know what i mean !
