Back in the big flood of 96 my Van by the river was a boat. So me and Larry started calling it "the boat".

I've only had one for the last 6 months or so, lost my land line when I sold my last property in November. I hate the electronic leash, but a scooter/ motorcycle helps cure that....can't hear it ring or take the bitch's useless call bout nuthin, when riding !

I got my first cell phone in 1998. That was also the last time I had a land line.

Honest question, what's so great about them? Most people I see seem to be addicted to them, I think I have enough addictions in my life!

If I could get one for maybe $10 a month, Id consider it, but dont most plans cost $50 - $100 a month?

I know most, more so Kids are addicted... But I'm not on it 24/7
But it's great to have if you have the need to contact someone while on the road or they have a need to contact me.
having a smart phone is great again if on the road. As I can search the web, use google maps, buy Movie tickets and Yes, Work from my phone.

I also Make wagers from my phone... which is Great ! so no need to run home to make a wager. maybe you are at a Game and you see something... maybe someone out of the line-up... Now you want to make a Bet... Try finding a Pay phone now a days.

I also get to check my Email. Yes, I know some don't want to be bothered with Email while you are out. But some need it....
Outside of the RX, I do own two businesses with my wife. So the need to get a email and sending a reply at any given time, is for me.

The funny thing is we still have a Home phone, but I never use it. even when the phone rings, I never answer it.. because i know it's not for me. Everyone and Anyone knows my cell # and will contact me that way.

and Yes, cell phones plans can be expensive. But when I'm using in place of a laptop, I feel it is worth it.
I can Travel just about Anywhere and not miss a thing.

Get a prepaid. Throw $20 on it when you need to. For a someone who is not big on talking that could last you a couple months.

And so you know...85% of Americans 18 and older own a cell phone. (and 75% of those admit to using it in the bathroom)

How long does that $20 card last, dont most expire in 90 days. The only valid use for me would be when I'm at the airport and I could call someone to say I landed or are delayed , etc.

If I could get one of them $10 trackphones, buy a $20 card, and it would last for a year, I'd be all over it.

No way I could make it without one. I use it for everything. Placing wagers, lining up various things, surfing the web, etc. Hell, I'm on it now as I type this. Text messaging was a great invention. I hate phone calls but will text all day.
