Curious where the best places for someone to live and work in a different country. Want a place where I can watch my sports and have some Americans and culture available.

Here's a good story I was reading last night:

http://money.msn.com/retirement-pla...12k-a-month-weston.aspx?cp-documentid=6809719

Also, check out these links:

There are several countries in South America, many w/ European backgrounds, that have very good tax laws for ex-pats. I'm single and my son is almost 20 years old...it's definitely something I'd consider.

Right now, if I had to pick, Costa Rica, Nicarauga, or Panama would be my top choices.

Thanks for the links but i would have to work. Places like Costa Rica you have to be a citizen to be able to work.

Yes...And I don't know how true or false it is, but from what I've been told that the local police/govt. crack down on obvious illegals (Caucasian/African American) who settle in.

Wouldn't Candada be the most logical place?

And of course places like moko mentioned above.... Australia, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Denmark.

The only Latin country I'd even consider and who's remotely close to our lifestyle is Spain...

I'd rather go those countries than Latin/Asian countries too but realistically they are far more expensive. Can't really retire to Aussie/UK/Norway/Swiss/Sweden/Denmark unless your rich.

40 years ago nobody wanted to leave the US there was simply no better place. Australia & New Zealand were great then too. But with world wide globalization they may be facing the same immigration intrusions that the US has gone through. I'd say today there are no more refuges might as well stay here!

Political correctness trumps all these days, even Germany has removed 'Uber Alles' from the anthym!
