Ok, fully realize some of you guys with tattoos are going to come in this thread and claim to be lawyers/doctors, have millions of dollars and only bang 10's but I'm talking people in general.

I've been in a very low income area in Indiana for three weeks now and I don't think I've seen as many tattoos as I've seen while here. Shopping in a store and see a somewhat attractive woman and she has the butterfly tat on her neck or the fat guy with the tat on his calf. It simply never fails.

Is there unequivocal data that shows what kind of people are most likely to get tattoos?

I think gangs are an entirely different entity. I think their tats are of course a part of the gang culture.

I wonder if it has to do with boredom as well. There isn't much to do here.

Years ago most people who were in the military or were bikers were the majority of people who had tattoos. Now in our modern society maybe one out three people who you may encounter on a daily basis will have one. The sterotype of white collar professionals being tattoo free may or not be true nowadays. Of course I would think twice before I let a cardiologist perform open heart surgery on me if he had a sleeve.

having one or two is acceptable. painting 1/2 your body is idiotic...

I imagine many of those folks have more money invested in their tats than they have in the bank!

I really do believe that CB. It's unreal. Saw a woman today with a big star on her neck. Why?

tattoos are low class, esp. on a female.

they scream gangs, drugs,prison, etc.

I can see military tats somewhat, but not most tats.

I wouldn't accept a free tattoo session from the best artist in the world.

keep it somewhere that doesn't show ( wearing office clothes) at least, if a female if you want to taken seriously as like a teacher, dental hygenist, secretary, or something mainstream.

Quite possibly. Maybe 1 out of 4. 10 out of 100 Americans are in jail or prison according to reports on a daily basis. Think of all the inmates that have tattoos and factor them in also. Maybe 1 in 3 including bikers, strippers, ex military, rednecks, and people who got drunk and realized later they made a huge fucking mistake.

10% of Americans are not in prison, more like 1%

When tattoo removal technology improves its gonna be huge! Many of these people are gonna wake up one day and realize they are now 40, 50-something and say to themselves, "WTF?"

No way in Hell, John !

300+ million Americans, 30 million people are not jailed on any given day, I think under 3 million.
