Bolt to win 200m or Rudisha to win 800m?

If Bolt is doing this clean and we will probably have to wait several years to know if he was then he is the best I have ever seen. You can be sure his blood will be tested repeatedly as the doping organization finds any new designer enhancements that were undetectable today. I want to believe that he is a freak of nature and just an amazing physical specimen. It is so disheartening to root for these athletes then find out they were dopers.

He is truly a joy to watch. Just hard to understand how someone can run that fast. He is racing against literally the fastest people in the world and just leaving them in the dust.

My one complaint: I've watched him race either the 100m or the 200m at least 10 times over the past 4 years or so. I don't think I've ever seen him actually sprint all the way to the finish line. I know it's not necessary as he's already several lengths ahead of second but I just wonder why he doesn't go all out the whole race more often in an attempt to lower his world records. If he actually tried 100% every race, he could get his record lower and lower and possibly set it where it could never be broken. I'm sure injury concerns might be one reason. No reason to risk pulling a hammy I guess if you know you can just coast for the victory. But last night's final would have been a good time to go all out. No other races later in the Olympics so why not? Last night's 200m victory was about as long as I've ever seen him running hard but he still pulled up and coasted with a finger over his mouth the last bit.

I just love watching him run and want him to throw up a crazy number in both the 100m and the 200m that will never be touched.

All athletes are dopers.

Why would you care?

The dude should try out for WR for the NFL. I pity the fool who tries to cover him.

Read that he's already making $20 million a year through racing and endorsements. I'm sure endorsements make up 98% of that number. Doubt he'd risk that kind of a coin for a small NFL contract by comparison.

If I'm not mistaken, setting a WR at the Olympics pays far less than doing the same at some big IAAF Golden League meeting, so it makes sense for him to not go for a new WR during the Olympics....and to just barely increase the WR afterwards so he can collect that premium several times...
