Great area for a vacation, Kermit. I was out around that area last year and enjoyed some good hiking and sight seeing. I really enjoyed the wild mustang sanctuary, well worth the money if you enjoy horses. South Dakota is, in my opinion, a very underrated state to visit or maybe even live. I was there a week prior to rally and there were already plenty of bikers around enjoying themselves.
My wife just read your post and She wants to know who is the old Lady that you are talking about ! Just kidding because She almost fell off her stool laughing ! BTW There were no Hell' s Angels there that were brave enough to wear their colors. They would be out numbered by about 100,00/1. The truth be known is that there were probably plenty of them there but a local told me that they wouldn't dare wear their colors. They all treated my wife, her Sister and myself great. We enjoyed the whole experience. Everyone should really have it on their bucket list.
