Thursday: 1-2, -2.4 units. Should have laid even lower.

SF Giants: RL. 4 units.
SF Giants -1/2. 2 units. First 5 IPs. My write up got erased, and it was good long one. Lincecum is much tougher at home, coming off of 4 out 5 quality starts. The Rockies hitting has gone south- Cuddyer and Helton on the DL, Scutaro traded, Colvin having a terrible 2nd half, Gonzalez is hitting .258 on the road, and Ruledge and Rosario slumping a bit. Lincecum seems to finally be adapting to his lesser velocity and is now pitching with more focus, and pitching out of the stretch better.
The Giants had an excellent road trip and I like them here at home on their first game back. They blew out the Rockies in Coors, went 2-2 against a very hot Cardinal team and they are batting well throughout the lineup. Tyler Chatwood pitched poorly in AAA, pitched better in AA, and is now up to see if he can get the ball over the plate. Since his fastball has little or no command, he is often behind in counts and then he can't use the off speed stuff. It's been his problem going back to last year and the year before that. The way the Giants are hitting if they can't get to Chatwood, then they might as well give the Dodgers the division.

Tampa. ML. One unit. The Rays played well at home, but in the past month played better on the road. Even though Hellickson and DeVRies have similar stats, Hellickson is the much better pitcher. DeVries has marginal stuff, but has been good about getting it over the plate. Hellickson had a rough start last time, but 5 in a row good ones before that. In his last 5 starts, only 2 HRs and 9 walks. You have to also remember that last year he held hitters to a .210 BA. Quite hard to do in the AL. Rays have the better BP.

Seattle. ML. One unit. The Mariners are coming off a dreadful east Coast swing, but I really like this pitching matchup. King Felix is just really at the top of his game, with some amazing late break on his pitches, and great command. Santana is getting roughed up, and being RH the Mariners LH laden lineup has a decent chance to knock him around a bit. The Angels are not getting good BP pitching of late.

Mets. ML. Harvey's first game at home. He didn't seem phased his first game in the mlb, and I think he'll look good here. He is only 2 HRs away from an amazing 3 game start in the majors. Mets finally broke their skid with a win Thursday, and Friday night's game will have a big home crowd to watch Harvey. Since ether aren't going to the playoffs, games like this will have to suffice for motivation. Also, would be nice to mess up the Braves chances. Maholm has been very, very good but he can't be that good. He is due for some regression. Also, the Braves hitting often goes south vs. some of the league's tough pitchers. If Harvey is on, the Mets should win.

STL. ML.(+115) One unit. This year, Lohse has been the better pitcher than Halladay. This line is set because of Halladay's reputation and career, but not based on where these 2 teams are, or these 2 pitchers. Halladay has been slipping even before his injury. He's still a very good starter, but he's 35 and he will struggle vs. good hitting teams like STL. This Cards team has hit him well in the past, even when he was at his best. Lohse has only one poor start at Coors, but before that his last poor start was May 30. Also, the Phillies don't have the punch at the plate as they used to. Utley and Howard are not quite themselves, and they are trying out young players for next year. Their BP has also been a mess.

Cubs. ML. First 5 innings. Germano was in a groove in AAA, and continues it in the majors. Has not given up a HR yet, and now faces the ultra cold Reds. After 4 straight games of barely a whimper from the Reds, I'll take the Cubs here to get a few runs off Bailey, who has struggled badly his last 2 outings. The Reds might be the ultimate all good, then all bad team right now.

Boston -1. Like this pitching matchup. Bucholz has been the Sox steadiest Starter for the past 2 months, and I still think the Red Sox have some life in them. Seddon has a pattern of pitching well enough to get out of the minors, then getting shelled in the majors. Has no real out pitch. The Indians have now won 2 in a row with that somewhat dreadful lineup, but how long will it continue?

GL Fred. I am guessing that the Mets, Cubs and Boston are all one unit? Let's go Giants.
