The old days of finding places for next to nothing, at least in high return areas are pretty much done. You can still get good deals but it's not like in old days where you could get 4 lots on the beach for $15K. You need to be here, get around, talk to people and find those selling in a desperate need to leave Costa Rica or pay a bill or something. Keep in mind you are not the only guy in Costa Rica looking for these deals, there are investment groups being much more proactive than you might think.
Lets just say that i know of 1000m2+(between 1000m2 and no more then 1500m2) lots for 25k Ocean View at Samara on a ecologically conscious community. If you are not into ocean view they do have valley view as well for a lot less.
